"As part of corrective action take to avoid €21m (£28m) loss in 2009 Dublin bus has shed 290 jobs and 120 buses, approximately 10% of both their work force & fleet. The decision follows a €10m (£9m) loss in 2008"
The credit crunch and rising costs has clearly hit Dublin bus an industry that was supposed to boom in todays climate. Dont know what their fleet is like but could some of their motors be making their way to our shores & maybe west yorks?

Halifax joint committee already have 2 or 3 ex dublin buses on their books.
Depends now what Dublin will do get rid of old stock or sell the newer stock, the newer stuff could be used over here the older stock well ,it'll move but wouldn't get on the fleets of the major natrionals.

www.dublinbus.ie/about_us/double_decks.asp according to there their earliest deckers entered service in 1997 & their singles are around the same date. They operate new wright eclipse bendis and geminis on B9TLs. Can see some of their Alx400s coming over here, would it be an idea for first to invest in some to replace the volvo olympians FWY have and try to make it 100% low floor DD?

The whole of the state owned transport operations in the Republic of Ireland is going to be scaled down. It makes Arriva's cut backs seem nothing compared to this, and this is a nationalised company making the cut backs, not a PLC. There's some food for thought!
There is some debate amongst Irish Government officials on whether private operators should be allowed to operate services. This could be to First's advantage as they already operate the Air Coach service in the city.
