Recently the BBC have come underfire for the wrong doings of Russell Brand & Jonathan Ross.(I'm Sure you all know why & what they did)
Sunday night the BBC aired Top Gear which in my opinion was sheer quality. But some people have called for Mr. Clarkson's head and for him to be suspended/sacked for stereotyping truck drivers to kill prostitutes.
I was wondering what you're thoughts were on both situations. Is it the world being too "correct" or should the 3 men be thrown in jail and they key thrown away?
If you ask me it should all be taken with a pinch of salt. I mean alright the phone call from Brand & Ross was abit out of order but they didn't mean any harm. Same with Clarkson, this was a joke and i wouldn't expect anything different from 'Jezza' or anyother of the top gear presenters. It fits the bill with all 3 of their characters.
Brand - Comedian - What he's used to doing and he thought people would laugh at this.
Ross - Paid to take the michael out of people by the BBC and has continued this with his Radio 2 show & phone call.
Clarkson - would anyone expect anydifferent from him especially those who only buy the saturday Sun newspaper for his column.
The world has gone mad if you ask me.

I think the world has gone mad and it is about time we turned around to this complaining tw*ts and said "look if it is offending you turn it OVER". Surely it is common sense anyway to do that.
I think that if they were going to take Clarkson and Top Gear off the BBC the Complaints for taking it off air would easily outweigh the complaints for it been offensive. I think these people who complain have nothing better to do then complain. It is about time we told these people to STFU or turn over the channel. It isn't racism, it isn't Harmful etc.
And one last thing do you really think the truck drivers would of been "offended" by Clarksons comment. Don't think so.

Essentially this is just a witch hunt started by The Mail on Sunday, who reported the incident in a predictably biased manner, firing people up who either weren't concerned when they heard the broadcast themselves, or indeed by people who never heard the broadcast. The BBC responded with a knee-jerk panic reaction by suspending anybody involved, and even Gordon Brown decided that it was more worthy of his personal comment rather than keeping himself busy with current political issues.
Perhaps the phone calls made by the presenters weren't the best idea they've ever had, but it wasn't intended to upset anybody, and most importantly Andrew Sachs has gone on record to say that he does not intend to take the matter any further. Personally I commend Russell Brand for resigning, after all he has far better offers of work and this "controversy" is not going to tarnish him in any way, not least highlighted by the fact that he is now even on Disney's payroll. Jonathan Ross on the other hand might need to pray that it all dies down...
Now that the story has been picked up by everyone, much like the "phone-in scams", every and any story will now be picked up by the tabloids, hence the new furore over Jeremy Clarkson. And let's face it, if you didn't want to hear his bigoted, unpolished views on life, you wouldn't be watching his programme. Him being opinionated is nothing new.
Finally, I think the fact that Channel Five have hastily commissioned a programme to be aired tomorrow entitled "Russell and Ross - What the F Was That All About" sums up just how nonsensical the whole debacle was.

its just typical of our country now, the press just go over the top and force people to make decisions such as the BBC. its only the pass the attention from the credit cruch to sommot else. anyways, Jeremy Clarkson should be prime minister not gordan brown

The quality of the press is applaing while not the bbc the ytv news in sheffield announced that there was a new lincoln - london rail service they showed a 153 unit
Daily telegraph 22nd dec illistrated an article on the new RM with a picture of a RTL no appology given no correction
If it was the wrong picture of a start then it would have been corrected
