The 36 B7TLS have proved them self to work on the 36, and i would say they are about 3 if not 4 year old. Am just wondering do Transdev or Harroagte & District have any B9TL Wright Eclipse Bodied on order to replace these? I know that Transdev Coastliner have these buses and they are popular on long routes.
This can then free up all the B7TL'S and they can be shunted to a different company (K&D) or used on other routes, such as the X54 and the 770. If some are transferred to K&D, i would imagine the first route to have them would be the 760 soon followed by the 697/698/699 rotation.

The Geminis branded for the 36 are on 53 plates so they're 4 5 years old (approx) Id like to see B9TLs on the route and can see them coming within near future. I think the 770 is coping as it is with its Plaxton Presidents and Wright single deckers, i'd like to see them on the 760 though they'd do a good job on said route.

It has been mentioned on here somewhere that the 36 is due new buses in 2011 so quite a while off. As it would be difficult to cascade such high specification vehicles onto other routes within the Transdev Blazefield empire.
I would imagine they would go to Blackburn for the 152 Burnley to Preston route and the "Lancashire Way". I suppose the 770 and 760 would be good candidates for Yorkshire, doubt they would ever make it onto the Bradford, Thornton and Keighley route.

Aren't the 770s Plaxton Presidents from the Witch Way? I'm sure the glass on the staircase has a witch on it.
To cascade them would be easy if you ask me, just order the new bus with normal seats and take them out and swap them with the older cascaded bus.

Yes the Plaxton Presidents are from Burnley and Pendle.
3613 YJ06TLU was diverted to Harrogate & District from Coastliner which got a Plaxton President in return.

Here's your new shiny double decker with recycled leather seats...enjoy! In todays economic climate it may come to that, you could do what I said or just recover them.

The transport industry shouldn't really be effected that greatly by the recession or the cereal, credit crunch (it does sound like one to be fair!) in a negative sence. If anything, the industry will prosper from it hence bus companies using the "R" word in adverts and publicity.
Things should recover by 2011 economic wise.

But still the seat idea is a bit barmy as it would make an exclusive high quality product cheapened if you use the old seats.
It would be just as cheap to get the new luxury seats specified in the new buses than refurbish them as soon as they're delivered!

Enviro400 Tridents would work well on the 36, and possibly a new style 36 Branding at the same time.

A customer consultation is going to take place on the 36 and Lancashire's X43 to see what opinions people have on possible new buses
The 36 would then get new vehicles late 2010 with the X43 getting some of the same type in 2011
(2009 will be new single decks for Burnley & Pendle's The Mainline)
There are lots of services where these mid life leather seated buses could be cascaded to, 760, 770 in Yorkshire, 152, X40 in Lancashire etc are some that immediately come to mind

Then again, Transdev appears to be showing a liking for Optare products so we could see the Olympus or the new decker to get launched this week.

The talk of recycling the leather and cotton seats is ridiculous. If they were going to do that, not only would the brand new B9TL look cheap and tatty, they would of course loose alot of Customers due to the local public news saying that they are the first bus company to re-use seats and plus if they were going to do that, i would rather them stick a Strider on the 36 and as many of you know for me to say that, it is saying something.

I never knew you had such a low opinion of the Alexander Strider. Some of the K---HUGs are a bit ropey but give me a L---PWR anyday especially 8640/1/6 (61118/9/24)!

I agree that they're cramped but there's something about a musky smelling 15 year old Scania that still gets me. Probably because they bring back memories of the 88 especially with the seats without any foam in - BP speciality that 1.

I walked behind a Scania Strider the other day and wow!
That's something you don't get with new buses

3603 has been relivered in a revised 36 livery. Couple of photos on Flickr This link will need to be copied rather than clicked on as the @n00 on the end is critical to it working www.flickr.com/photos/23137045@N00

Good point - I like the way they've added 'Leeds-Harrogate-Ripon' on the side, previously people could see it was the 36 but didn't know where that route went
Bad point - I don't like the front arrangement, the Wright 'W' should be picked out in silver and the extra red bit looks strange

I think it looks very smart although it could be a bit complicated to repair the front if it has accident damage. One thing I don't like is that the destination blind doesn't show enough information, no mention of via points or where it terminates in Ripon/Leeds. However I do like how Transdev are using the space by the stairs to advertise their fares
