Was just thinking, there can't be that many buses left within the First West Yorkshire fleet that carry Barbie 2 livery.
On West Yorkshire Buses website, the following buses are listed to carry the livery (correct at 03/08/08)...
Leeds
30810, 30812, 31092, 40614
Bradford
30643, 30646, 30651, 30652, 30654, 30761, 30762

On the topic of First Livery, I was wondering why when new, the Royales carried Barbie 1 and had the standard First seats, but the Alexander RH Olympians, which were also new around the same time carried the Orange and White Leeds City Link livery and had Red seats fitted, the same as the ones on Arriva's Striders?

R606-621 JUB were new in 1997 and carried the LCL livery a year before the Barbie livery was introduced

40614 can be striked out of the Leeds list as that is in B3 livery now.
The P---TGD Alexander RLs were new to Glasgow.

Some early Royales did carry Leeds City Link livery but wasn't it midway through their delivery that Barbie 1 was introduced and First decided to use this new livery for Royales instead (despite them not being low floor).
P-TGD Olympians wore LCL livery because they were older buses and met few if any of the requirements for Barbie 1.

5601-5621 were all new in Leeds City Link livery
5622 onwards (at Bradford) were the first Royales in Barbie livery

I never realised that many had originally worn LCL livery, my memory must be playing tricks as I thought there were only a handful to do so. Incidentally, I always thought LCL paintwork seemed to suit the Royales very well.

The original rules for First's "Barbie" livery were thus:
1) The bus had to have a First corporate style interior. 2) The bus had to be a low-floor single-decker, or else a double-decker with the above interior. Low-floor double-deckers were a rarity in 1998, and none were in First's fleets. 3) I think there were some rules about the engine - was it a minimum Euro 2 spec?
Hence older buses would be in local liveries, as would new minibuses, such as Midland Red West's large 1998 batch of Varios, and anything else not to full First spec. This was then superseded by "Barbie 2" and then by "Barbie for all" or "Barbie 3".

Yes, engines did have to be to Euro 2 standard. Of course First bent their own rules quite quickly by giving non-low floor Royales the blue and pink treatment.

I've been told today (Sunday) that 30812 has been requested for a visit to the paintshop this week, possibly Monday. That, then will be the end of Barbie 2 in Leeds. It was still in service on Saturday.
31092 was repainted about 4 weeks ago.

Yes, engines did have to be to Euro 2 standard. Of course First bent their own rules quite quickly by giving non-low floor Royales the blue and pink treatment. That was the rule They had to have First interiors and be either a low floor single decker or any double decker as low floor double deckers were few and far between Hence the Royales were in First livery, Calderline's Varios 2401+ were all in Calderline livery despite having First interior, Huddersfield's low floor Scanias 8432-7 had Yorkshire Rider livery so therefore received First Huddersfield livery (with special branding)

Sorry for the incorrect information I gave last Sunday re 30812. Turns out it couldn't be spared for the paint shops due to a vehicle shortage at Hunslet Park so it's still out and about.
On a different note, the few 56 branded ALX400's have been called in for the branding to be removed over the next couple of weeks. This is in advance of new buses due for this service at the back end of this year.
