Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet... but twice now I have seen what look like miniature monitors (with a blue glow but unreadable from the road) in the roof of bus shelters (and oddly both at non-busy stops - one in Morley and one in Moortown) - are these new to replace the London style Countdown text displays?

I think those Blue Monitors are only getting installed in bus shelters in residential areas whilst the London Style Countdown are used it City Centre shelters.

Well that's cleared that one up. Have they been around for long then, as I say it is only this week I noticed these two.
What information do they display, just the next bus or up to 2 or 3 next buses?

There are a few of these in and around Keighley, had them since around last November I think. They show the same info as the bright orange ones, only they show around 5 departures rather than 3.

What information do they display, just the next bus or up to 2 or 3 next buses? The first one I noticed was on North Parkway and think it was about late spring. Usually real time for the next 2 or 3 departures is shown.

You mean the One Stop Shop on Burley Road at St Michael's Lane. Anyway, I don't think we want a list of where these monitors are installed thanks.

Station Road or more like Haigh Wood Road there is one, the first stop after the 96 turns off of tinshill road.
They are shoddy and look cheap in my personal opinion but hey they provide us with information.

They mostly are on the 662 route, although there is one on North Street in town as well. I suppose they are better on high frequency routes where more people will benefit from them, especially as buses tend to run in two's on that route. They would be little point having any on my route (720) as the buses aren't frequent enough!

There are some of these monitors along the A641 in Bradford (363/X6 Route), at Wyke Library & Morrisons/Mayo Avenue.

I mentioned this ages ago as well, I noticed the one in the shelter outside Park Lane College. They've also installed plenty on Dewsbury Road, as well as the 12/13/13A routes.

On a semi-related note, the roll out of South Yorkshire style "service numbers that stop here" stickers on bus stops (in both the city centre and suburbs) seems to have speedened recently with many more sighted by myself - advance apologies if this is something somebody already mentioned!
It certainly goes some way to make up for bus stop flags only showing final and select intermediate destinations, many of which are often wrong or misleading. Particularly worrying is where one stop will give some destinations, and the next stop down the same road for the same routes has different information...

Theres been a few of those stickers plastered on bus shelters for a while now, the 49 and 50 stop by the Henry Moore Institute springs to mind.
I noticed that some shelters on the Moortown side of Stonegate Road have these stickers now facing on coming traffic. Wouldn't it be just better if they replaced destinations on flag poles with service numbers instead.

I know the stickers have been around a while, I was just more indicating that recently they seem to be rapidly increasing in number.
Service numbers on flags would make much more sense, but I think Metro don't like taking a backward step and still stand by their decision to use destinations.

Not a fan of these screens. My local one tells me that limited stop services are due when they don't even stop there!

I see the LCD screens have been fitted to more bus shelters in Leeds along Eastgate, I guess these are cheaper than the LED displays. However the ones on Eastgate have been covered over in paper so can't be viewed.
Also what surprises me is how little of these have been damaged or vandalised in the suburbs.
