The 17.05 627 Bfd - Wrose service was this evening blocking the Bridge St/Sunbridge Rd end of Market St, which meant no buses could turn into Market St from that end.
It had come to a stop just before the pedestrian crossing outside the Goose pub, but I couldn't see whether there'd been an accident or if it had just broken down.
Needless to say, the centre of town was gridlocked. Luckily I got on my 17.15 610 outside City Hall (Centenary Square), and the bus turned onto Bridge St but went straight up Sunbridge Rd. There seemed to be quite a lot of passengers queuing at stops on Market St for buses that couldn't get into the road.
It made me think though: seeing as all the bus stops in Bfd centre now have the "your next bus" displays - I wonder if Metro could use them to flash up messages when there are disruptions. For example in this case, something like "No buses from this stop - please board at Centenary Square".

well the 627 is due at 17.05 out of the interchange becuause i used to see it when i used to get the "old" 619 at 17.15 so it cant have been there long it might have knocked someone down maybe? because people always step on to the road near there

A few Fridays ago I was on my way to Frizinghall and Market Street was blocked, outside HSBC.
A few Bradford residents had decided to park up illegially!
The bus driver went spare with the drivers of the cars, even used the F word, not one single passenger on the bus objected to our driver and there were cheers of support.

Huddersfield has a Dennis Lance trainer which is 60944. Bradford also has a Northern Counties Paladin Dennis Lance in the training fleet. There are also Volvo B10B/B10M trainers at First as well.
