This is how long it took me to go to leeds and get back to Selby today all because of the Leeds Festival. Absolute grip lock around Colton and Crossgates. We had 5 buses stood at Swillington in traffic and the Castleford buses were even worse it was like the Bermuda triangle, buses went but didn't return.

Isn't Leeds generally the Bermuda Triangle of buses! Yes, a few road closure in the area haven't helped traffic that is going to the Festival Site.

Today was something different, don't think I have ever sat in one place for such a long time. Also what was even funnier was when a passenger asked me who long we was going to be sat in traffic lol. How longs a piece of string?

absolute mayhem on the A64 this morning with the flooding at Grimes d**e. but i got to seacroft around 6.10 and it was gridlock, got into tesco and i never seen as much mud.
took dad (godsons driver) 2 hours to get from halton to his pick up in crossgates for a day trip to beamish, which was obviously a shortened day

I quite understand people wishing to discuss delays experienced etc, but let's not act surprised about it. It's a big festival, boosting the local economy and helping put Leeds "on the map" - and of course there is heavy traffic. But being shocked by this fact that delays happen is about as shocking as reading some two-bit article in the 'paper about GCSEs/A Levels getting easier...

boosting the local tescos and geldards more like. I was reading a readers comment in the YEP and he stated that people should be forced to use the A1m and go to the bramham turning to get to the park therefore disrupting only the A1 and they could possibly use the hard shoulder to queue up. its stupid that everyone in this area of leeds has to suffer what with car horns, queues, late buses, even the mud in tesco will have caused some complaints afterall it could of been a health and safety risk.
some form of decent planning and a direct route for the festivalers needs sorting

i do apologise but i was merely stating my point of complaints from the local area!
and suppose you slipped on the mud in tesco. i dont suppose you'd bring up health and safety then!
re the x28 i couldn't tell you to be honest i hope they do though, its just all the cars that block the roads that annoys us locals

I apologise for been an idiot, it is just the fact that we shouldn’t complain about things when am sure that a Store that size will have safety precautions in place.
The best route for the X28 i would think is not the M621/M1/A1M but the A64 route thus creating a more direct route. The best route for the cars is as you say down the M621/M1/A1, the advertisers use this combination as 'how to get there' aswell as the A64 route which i find merely stupid.
Another quick question, Do the X28 and X29 interwork with each other at Braham park or does the X28 like today to and return to leeds?

apology accepted nick! the store didn't seem to have a cleaner about either.
yeah it would and that'd help the coastliner & 770 & 40 & 4 that use the A64, i think that the cars route should be retought though

A story in today's Evening Post points out that the traffic was worse than usual due to the weather, car parking areas were obviously very wet meaning queues built up as the flow of cars entering the site was very slow
One thing to note this year is that the special shuttle buses are actually departing from the coach station rather than the bus station

Stand 1 & 2.
What gets me is, they call via Soverign Street so this suggest's that they will via Kirkgate and Swingate before entering Soverign Street. From there where will they go, i mean i would think the most Logical Sense is to go via the M621/M1/A1(M)/A1 combination although if they wanted to go via the A64 they would have to go round the city again, which would make the Journey from the Bus/Coach Station no sense so my question is this,
How do they operate around town?

They go via the motorways and access the site at a seperate entrance off the A1(M)
