I thought i'd never see the day 61085 practically reduced to rubble ! anybody know what the deal with 61079 is ?? is it saved or not ?? also has 61085 & 86 left hunslet yet or are they already cut up ?? any info much appreicated cheers ! First's policy of not selling for further use is ridiculous. We've now got a situation where Arriva's Dennis Lance/Alexander Striders are moving to other operators and First's Volvo and Scania versions, which are probably in a better condition and more desirable being scrapped These scrapyard photos are interesting, it's strange that some vehicles are cut up straightaway but others look like they have been there for 10 years

What a terrible shame. These buses could have had a new lease of life with another operator but not much chance of that with the current policy in place.

8601 ( 61079 ) left Hunslet Park, Leeds depot today at 15.45 for the last time to enter a new life in preservation by a private owner. It is expected it will be restored to Yorkshire Rider livery in due course.
No further information is been released at this stage so a polite "please dont ask".

Dont wanna be pedantic, but that Olympian wasn't ECW bodied. It was bodied by Leyland to the ECW design.
