www.busandcoach.com/newsStory.aspx?id=2080ARRIVA Yorkshire has launched the first 13 of a fleet of 43 new buses being delivered in 2008-09 at a cost of £7million. The initial vehicles are Volvo B7RLEs with Wrightbus bodies. They are being used on services running between Leeds and Cleckheaton, When all 43 buses have been delivered there will be 314 low-floor buses in the Arriva Yorkshire fleet, meaning that over 90 per cent of its services will be run by easy-access buses.
Nigel Featham, managing director of Arriva Yorkshire, says: “We listen to our passengers and are committed to providing the best possible bus service for everyone who lives, visits and does business in the communities we serve. We are sure our customers will be delighted with their new buses and are confident the new vehicles will also encourage more people to save on fuel costs and leave the car at home.”
Arriva Yorkshire’s 400-plus buses carry 44 million people a year.
Besides the 13 buses mentioned and the Enviro 400's for Heckmondwike, what other new buses are coming to the Arriva Yorkshire Fleet?

Are they getting Enviro200s or Enviro300s as you mention Enviro300s whilst the link to the Dewsbury Bus Museum site depicts an Enviro200 demonstrator on loan back in Spring.

So the 17 Enviro200s form the rest of the 43 buses, well no, it is actually 44 buses then Arriva are pumping into the area!
17(E200s)+13(Wrights)+14(E400s)=44!
Somebody at Arriva appears to be not capable of adding numbers up!
Back to topic, so if these E200s form the rest of 2008/09 period Yorkshire order. Will the nine or so single deckers ever materialise for Selby that you mentioned of the110? Or will these come later in 2009?

Well Wakefield seem to be ok for now as the majority of their fleet apart from the 1999 Spectras and a couple of Darts are all low-floor. Imagine the plan is to upgrade all Arriva Yorkshire to low-floor over the next couple of years now.

the110, do you know whether Selby still have certain 415 journeys interwork with the 402/403 at Selby Bus Station? Then we're going to have anything on both routes as I'm sure any President's displaced will not remain at Selby and move elsewhere.

Nearly all 415 are on there own boards only a few early morning and late night buses interwork, this will become less over time. The 402/3 mainly interwork with the 401 Goole. All low floor buses will remain at selby, when the new ones arrive they will replace - 511,512,513,514,621,622,623,615 and 616 = 9 buses. Selby will then be 100% low floor.

Also what will these Double Deckers be? More Enviro400s on the Volvo B9TL chassis?

I have heard Dewsbury are to get 13 Enviro300s. Some Darts Moving to Cas. 3 Ikarus to stay Ive also heard. Where does this leave the 212 Service in Dewsbury As They Usually Run The Ikarus City Buses On This Route? does this mean we Will we be getting new buses on that route!?

17 seems more sensible as the 281/283 (a logical home for these new buses) has a PVR of 16

It will be interesting to see how these look on the road. I imagine they will receive something like a 'Connecting Dewsbury and Bradford' route branding for the 268, probably Orange this time!

These new buses are definally 'about time'
I'm just looking back at old info preparing a new page for my website and it is quite significant what has happened over the last few years
In general around 30 buses would be delivered new each year, then after 2002 this stopped dead. Nothing in 2003, only 5 dealer stock single decks in 2004 and nothing in 2005
They had decent quanties of new buses in 2006 but then again only 7 buses in 2007
They need to make up for lost time

Arriva intended on having all 16 Darwens on the road before the end of 2007, but thanks to Darwen they only finished entering service in May this year, otherwise there would have been a large number of new buses in 2007.
Out of all the depots, I think Dewsbury and Heckmondwike have done pretty well considering they will soon have new Enviro400s, as well as the Wright Eclipse Urbans, East Lancs Lowlanders, and the 57-plate Commanders, plus the new Enviro300s next year!
