I'm currently travelling on the X63 towards Huddersfield, which stops at a stop ON Bradley Bar Roundabout.
Now, there can't be many bus stops on a roundabout, so how many unusually or awkwardly-placed bus stops can you think of?

Watching for traffic coming up joining the roundabout, 2 lanes of traffic on the roundabout and then immediately joining a dual carriageway. When I drove the 508. I always made sure to slow down and look at the stop that's recessed in the old tram turning circle just after where the 682 pops out of the Woodside estate.

Oh yes, the Woodside one is pretty awkward, I'd forgotten about that. Hiding behind the building.

There's a stop in Triangle heading towards Ripponden which is just after a house on a corner which blocks the view - you have to be on the ball as a passenger and bus driver to get the bus to stop anywhere near the flag. maps.app.goo.gl/2GkUgZmfgQvT2iWP6In fact there seem to be a lot of poorly placed stops between Halifax and Ripponden.

Metro had to move one of the stops near me outside the Onestop in Altofts about 2 years ago, it was an utter nightmare for bus drivers to drop people off there, especially when there was parked cars there from the shop and residents a bit of a struggle for a disabled person to get off there!
Metro moved it further up the street, think Arriva complained to Metro about it and rightly so.

Castleford bound 163's stop within the mini roundabout at the junction of Kippax High Street and Cross Hills, I've always thought that was odd.

Stop for Nutclough Rd going into Hebden Bridge on the B3 is awkward. Barely a B7RLE's length beyond a junction on a near hairpin bend with poor visibility and almost no room for overtaking.

Didn't they move it because they built a house where the bus stop was rather than any practical reason, now its located too close to the previous stop at Foxholes

There's a similar stop like that in Rishworth on the 586 route called Oldham Road, Rishworth school (ironically named when the other previous bus stop is closer). It's always amusing to watch passengers aggressively flag the bus down round the corner encase the bus speeds past them.

There's a bus stop on a roundabout on either the 23, 25 or both from Trafford Centre to Stockport, I believe in Urmston or somewhere like that.

Also a lot of bus stops after Ripponden, around sharp corners making it hard for the driver to see. I can think of one on the 586 by bar lane and a couple on the 587/900/901 after Ripponden.

Brearley Bends on the 590/1/2 if you're doing the 40 (used to he 50) miles per hour speed limit round there you're not going to see intending passengers until it's too late. However this is one of the few routes with regular drivers on so are aware of this. Personally I'll always do 30mph round this particular section and look through the trees prior to the bend to see any intending passengers.

Eccup Reservoir stop both directions on the main Harrogate Road is a very bad stop, particularly Leeds bound. Harrogate bound it's not so bad but it's on the bit where the speed limit suddenly increases from 30 to 60mph so drivers not expecting a bus to slow for the stop, which isn't marked not even with a bus stop sign, are a bit caught out. Leeds bound, passengers are forced to wait on a dangerous mud covered bit of ground very close to the road. It's the nearest stop for walkers for the reservoir, or indeed workers up that way as there are some employment places such as the Yorkshire Water site, some sort of company with office facilities on a converted farm, an activity centre which has companies within it renting out various bits etc. I have seen people board from that stop be it walkers or workers out that way and it's amazing how they don't end up in the road, although to be fair the next stop is not far off a mile further on at Alwoodley Gates cross roads.

When I drove the 508. I always made sure to slow down and look at the stop that's recessed in the old tram turning circle just after where the 682 pops out of the Woodside estate. This is the stop used by the fans of Bradford (Park Avenue) who are well aware of making sure the 681 bus stops!

Silsden Bridge. Doesn't seem to serve anything, as the Steeton & Silsden stop is er nearer the station (the main road stop isn't actually near the station), and the Belton Road stop is nearer Silsden AFC football ground. It is a bit annoying that there isn't a stop nearer the ground, but I do appreciate that the road is a bit narrow at that point, and also that there isn't a stop near the Aldi entrance, or move the Aldi entrance nearer the bus stop 😆

Especially when there's a stop between that and Steeton School.
