How could their reputation be any worse? Hopefully Sunak came to investigate my complaints. Hopefully he asked where the 11:06 X99 to Leeds was last Friday? Not on the long cancellation list for the day that they produce, but it still didn't appear. Hopefully he asked why the 12:05 to Wetherby last Saturday was at the Victoria stop before 12:05 but still left late for no good reason. Hopefully he asked why their website shows them as being unable to serve the Tesco stop on Roundhay Road, when the X98 and X99 are not only serving the stop, but waiting there in the bus pull in. Hopefully he was there to give them an award for the most unreliable bus service in the UK.

Personally I was disappointed that Look North used the viist to talk about the money wasting Doncaster airport and hardly anything about buses
Harrogate Advertiser did a better job IMHO

Harrogate and Knaresborough’s MP says it was a “fantastic” boost for Harrogate to welcome the Prime Minister today on a visit to two local organisations.

The snap visit by Rishi Sunak to Starbeck this morning was the first by a sitting PM in that part of Harrogate since David Cameron made the trek north more than a decade ago.

Tory MP Andrew Jones said it was great to be able to share with the country’s leader the “sheer quality” of work being done by two very different local organisations.

But, as someone who has praised Rishi Sunak in the past while being critical of Boris Johnson, Mr Jones also issued a warning about factionalism in the Tory Party after accompanying the PM during the trip.

"Rishi knows and likes Harrogate. He comes here even when it’s not in an official capacity.

"He lives in Northallerton and is full of pride in North Yorkshire.

"Everyone in the Tory Party should be focusing on representing their constituencies and the country.

"Policy is what counts.

“That’s why it was fantastic that the Prime Minister was able to see for himself what is being achieved here on the ground with Government investment.”

The first stop of the morning in Harrogate saw Rishi Sunak and Andrew Jones make a public visit Harrogate Bus Company’s Starbeck depot.

The PM saw work being carried out on what will be the first electric double decker in the UK as part of the Harrogate’s move to a zero emissions bus fleet with the help of Government funding.

And he also met young apprentices receiving training in a variety of roles at the award-winning bus company.

"It was great to welcome Rishi to see what is a local as well as national success story,” said Andrew Jones, a former junior transport minister.

"The double decker has been built in the UK by a British firm Alexander Dennis with Government support.

"It's such an exciting development in public transport.”

It's a pity that Rishi Sunak didn't come today to see the reality of the miserable service that they provide. 52 services are published as cancelled today. How many others are also cancelled that are not published?

And it's a pity that you can't stop ranting about it! Cancellations happen, there is a shortage of drivers and surprisingly buses need to be maintained! 
If you have an issue with cancellations with Harrogate, I suggest you check cancellations and part-running routes with Arriva Yorkshire, you'll see 5 hour gaps, trust me, 52 cancellations is nothing.

At least Transdev publish their cancellations unlike Arriva. I'd like to ask LucyP, where do you get extra drivers from exactly? Bus driving is not an attractive industry to work in, more people leaving than coming, what do you want them to do?

Well I can answer my own question. The 53rd and unpublished cancellation was the 16:14 7 service from Wetherby to Harrogate. I'm not sure whether it was cancelled from Leeds or from Wetherby.

If the Mayor brings in franchising, it will be interesting to see what fines there are for breach of the franchise agreement as a result of these mass cancellations. Will they even be allowed to bid for a franchise? How long would it take for them to lose it with their abysmal performance?

The public deserves better.

I'm happily married. I haven't had an ex for many years now, and none of my exes worked for Transdev.

If another of the major operators was in charge, you'd still have the same issues, whether it's Arriva, Stagecoach, Go Ahead, First.

I also think some of the public are ungreatful spoil sports, a lot of routes have had an evening frequency increase, which is a move, I would appreciate, and I think it's fantastic, and all people can do is complain. I'd be very grateful if my route got these frequencies.

It's slightly unfair to say the public are ungrateful, alot of these evening 'increases' are just restoring previous cuts & with so many stuff still cut it's not a surprise the public are still unhappy in general.

The 0910 7 to Leeds failed, or otherwise become unserviceable, at Walton hence the ongoing duties for that vehicle (1857) were cancelled which included that forming the 1614 from Wetherby
1856 previously had failed, or otherwise become unserviceable, on the 0725 to Leeds and those duties were fulfilled starting with the 1110 to Leeds by pulling 1834 off the Route 1 with consequential cancellations.
Starbeck was having a bit of a vehicle crisis and could not provide an immediate replacement for 1857 which hopefully will be resolved when the electrics arrive. They did manage to come up with Gemini 3613 for the 1720 to Leeds.

Presumably lucyp was not too inconvienced as there was a X70 at 1625. No doubt if that was a Transdev bus she would complain about that being two miniutes late departing and being 9 minutes late arriving in Harrogate

Your correct that due to driver shortages, some of the cuts needed to happen but that doesn't mean the public have to be happy about it, or are unreasonable for being unhappy about it.
