Comments on Railforums albeit now sort of squashed by a comment that such has been a depot rumour since Alex Hornby disappeared so maybe nothing in it.

That will be the same person who was scaremongering about Alex and the firm on Twitter. Owt like that would be announced by the company themselves and would also br on the news as well as in Routeone and CBW.

Suppose it depends if discussions have been going on behind closed doors, or if an offer has already been made. Maybe they need to offload some operations instead? Team Pennine seemed an odd acquisition at an equally odd time and doesn't really add anything to the existing network. Maybe Flyer too.

If the rumour is true, I think it would be highly unlikely that it would be sold of as a whole company. I think they'd get rid of individual operations and keep a core business of Keighley, Harrogate, Blackburn and Burnley.
Though who on earth would take on Coastliner is anyone's guess.

Not seen it here unless I've missed it somewhere, but according to Alex H's Twitter Bio he's now Group MD at McGill's buses. Wonder who is replacing him at Blazefield...

Alex Hornby hasn’t even been mentioned once in this article.

Lol. What a great word 'Hornbying'. Shame it doesn't seem to describe anything.

He’s not mentioned in the article, but the point is stepping in and launching a replacement night bus network is the kind of thing he would have done at Transdev so it feels like something he’d have been pushing even if he isn’t the public face anymore.

Is it not a case though that McGills have been expanding their operation for some time and taking on a service someone else is dropping is simply part of that process. In any case the matter is pretty much off topic and should be in the UK Transport thread.

As we understand: Henri Rohard is the new man in charge, but do we know anything about him?
Has he worked for any other companies in the UK or has he just been shipped in from Transdev head office?
I find it strange that there has been no official announcement or press about his appointment, and he is nowhere to be found on Twitter; which is very un-Transdev like.

He doesn't seem to have much of an online presence, but to be fair to him he does seem to be prioritising getting the job done rather than oversharing/promising too much on social media. It does seem odd that nothing has been announced or mentioned in any of the Transdev PR regarding the management changes, but considering there seems to have been a lot of secrecy around Hornbys departure, including the fact he's completely unacknowledged his time at Transdev, I feel there's a lot more gone on that the public don't (and won't) know about.

Let's hope the new guy does his job well and doesn't just constantly go on holiday.

There's a couple of articles from around 2020 time using quotes from him that list him as the 'Commercial & Development Manager' at Transdev Chile, so i'm guessing he's impressed someone high up & they've offered him this as a promotion.

Sort of old news - Companies House has him as being appointed in February find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02605399/officers

I feel has been placed as manager here more as a 'caretaker' until someone else takes over when the finances are more in order
