As of recent news, the West Yorkshire Mayor (Tracy Brabin) has put up a survey online at: www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/bigbuschat for public consultation for how they want buses to run across West Yorkshire. This has confirmed that WYCA will recieve funding from the government as well as an update in October 2022, to see how the plan ahead is going. Any thoughts on this?

Filled in the online survey earlier. But noticed how all the in person consultations are whilst the bulk of workers are at work.

But what are people wanting really? I mean tonight (Sunday) I've been in Leeds for a few beers with friends; they caught their last 50 at 23:37 from headrow (35622), I caught the last 2 to Moortown from Vicar Lane at 23:40 (35541). Ok, the Sunday night services are a bit different to the bulk of the week in that there's usually later buses than a weekday but really, I don't have a problem with the local (Leeds) services.

Sadly, outside of Leeds that sort of service is unusual. Many of the main services in Bradford which used to have last buses around 2300 now have last buses between 2130 and 2220. The busiest service past my house has a last bus at a reasonable 2300 Monday to Saturday, but 3 hours earlier on a Sunday. Where I used to live in Ripponden, they've gone from 3bph along the main road, 2bph evenings/Sundays until 2300 with additional peak and slower services to 2bph along the main road (but not always halff-hourly), less than 1bph in a evening, 2 hour gaps on a Sunday and last buses on a Sunday up to 6 hours ealier than when I was there. I used to be able to leave Otley after 2200 and get back to Ripponden. If I did that now, I'd have to leave by 2045. Sometimes I'd get the 2220 and go direct to my girlfriend's in Harrogate, less than half an hour away. You can still leave at 2217, but it'll take over 90 minutes with the last direct bus at 1800.
