Do you know about the price of Arriva's other tickets in West Yorkshire or indeed cash fares?

No i don't know the price rises im on holiday at the moment so can't find them out. I can't believe its nearly the 20th and there's still no information on arriva's fares in west yorkshire on this forum. The information must be on the buses by now, so would of thought someone would of seem them.

All it says is that single fares will increase by 10p to 20p. We have already discussed the other ticket prices.

Pretty soon the single fare will be more expensive than the day ticket. For a family, it is now cheaper to travel by taxi than bus for shorter journeys which is ridiculous.

So as that reads, All adult 80p and £1 fares, so anything under £2 will remain unchanged. Also with Arriva's West Yorkshire weekly at £16 thats cheaper than first's.

No, Arriva don't have child versions of the weekly tickets and the child day tickets are just half the adult price.

Now that oil prices (and subsequently diesel) have reduced from close to $150 a barrel to $120 a barrel (20% reduction), can we expect the bus companies to similarly reduce their prices and blame "falling costs of oil"? The answer to that will of course be "NO!". Bus companies are all too keen to pass on increasing costs, but I don't think I have ever experienced getting on a bus with a New Fares sticker in the window and finding out I have to pay less than before.
Arriva, First and the rest of the bus cartel we have in West Yorkshire should reduce their prices immediately. They have no right to increase fares if oil prices rise, but then not reduce them if the price of oil falls. It's a shame that these companies are only interested in fleecing the paying public out of as much money as possible rather than providing a reliable service, with firendly and helpful drivers for a decent price.
