Don't see why anyone would want to leave their car at home and take the bus, many journeys are unnecessary slow with buses waiting at timing points over 5+ minutes and then some routes which are continuously late. 🚌 Driving in congested city traffic is not a pleasant experience. Going by bus allows you to use the time more productively, even if it takes a little bit longer. 🚌 Parking in city centres can be limited, and expensive. No need to spend ages hunting around for a space if you're on the bus! 🚌 It is better for everyone if people who can sensibly use public transport do so, and some people are willing to do the right thing by others. To be blunt, I'm a bus user and hate using the bus, unless it's a rural journey, so can really understand why people drive. It's not just about high fares and congestion, I caught a morning peak bus up to Beeston where some err (I shan't say because I'll be shot down) was lighting up some type of drug in full view of the driver and lower deck passengers. Recently we've seen reports of one nutcase with a knife on a bus through Holbeck and during the same hour another nutcase attacking a driver just a mile away on Dewsbury Road, both incidents during the middle of the day! And that's just the passengers, journeys can be just as off putting. I finished one night at 7pm on Apperley Lane Rawdon and it took until 9pm to get back to Beeston, now frequencies are lower, and I did have to walk up to Rawdon Cross Roads, however just one canceled bus meant a massive commute! And then you've got the never ending Coastliner journeys, seats uncomfortable, journey far too long, it's like some endurance test!
