It’s a tad unusual Arriva Yorkshire running Halifax area school services Although seeing Arriva liveried double deckers running Halifax area school services won’t be unusual as Yorkshire Tiger have done that for years! That's true with Presidents & ALX400s historically and Lowlanders more recently. At least one of them can interwork with 255s and C49 could be run by either Dewsbury or even Heckmondwike and tie in with 256 or 228.

Metro have posted some school service operator changes in Calderdale and Kirklees from September C6 (Crossley Heath) Travel Express to Fourway Coaches C35 (Rastrick) Yorkshire Tiger to Fourway Coaches C36 (Brooksbank) First to Fourway Coaches C47 (Brighouse) First to Fourway Coaches C49 (Brighouse) First to Arriva Yorkshire C96/C98 (Todmorden) Central Garage Coach Hire to Fourway Coaches NH1 (North Halifax) First to Arriva Yorkshire NH4 (North Halifax) First to Fourway Coaches PL2 (Park Lane) First to Fourway Coaches S1/S2/S5 (Ryburn Valley) Yelloway to Fourway Coaches S6 (Ryburn Valley) Yelloway to Team Pennine S7 (Ryburn Valley) First to Team Pennine TA3 (Trinity Academy) First to Arriva Yorkshire TS4 (Trinity Sowerby Bridge) New Service operated by First 411 (Kirkburton) CT Plus to Globe Holidays 426 (Shelley) CT Plus to Globe Holidays K3 (Holmfirth) First to Team Pennine K4 (Honley) First to Team Pennine K5 (Honley) First to Team Pennine I suppose this could be the end of the ALX 400s in Halifax and Huddersfield

It's fishy that Arriva are running school contracts when Halifax isn't a main area covered by the Arriva network. A few years ago, Arriva cancelled the 278 between Halifax and Dewsbury because they couldn't afford it, however since the Yorkshire Tiger sale Arriva has more money. THIS IS JUST AN OPINION but I think the Halifax and Dewsbury link will be restored. Arriva's 255 still has trips to Halifax. The Brighouse C49 makes sense for Heckmondwike to tie in with 228 as i said.

One thing for sure with Arriva operating in Halifax, there will be some timetable changes to the 255. Maybe they'll run a couple of short workings, from Cleckheaton to Halifax mid afternoon and a return once the school working is done. Hang on, scratch that, this is Arriva so what will happen is a rather messy timetable at peak times consisting of school day and school holiday workings so this contract can be worked with a vehicle off the 255.

The above, as I cannot see the attachment, is (in terms of Yorkshire) The Shuttle going up to every 20 mins Sundays, Coastliner changing to its winter timetable (hourly 843s, 4 a day to Whitby), Halifax changes due to bus station redevelopment, night buses returning on the 36 and Harrogates Route 1, and also school buses in Harrogate being integrated into the main network.

This was recently posted by Alex Hornby, CEO of Transdev Blazefield. It seems that the Shuttle will have a frequency of every 20 minutes on a Sunday. As well as this, I also noticed refurbished Optare Solos for Rosso and some new tenders in Greater Manchester. Here's the tweet:
Those changes also posted on Transdevbus website along with some other changes: The Shuttle - will now run more often on Sundays. For most of the day there will be a bus every 20 minutes. The bus at 8am from Keighley will start at 7:50am, and there will be an extra bus at 8:20am too. Aireline – there will be an extra morning trip Monday to Friday to provide extra seats into Leeds at rush hour for commuters. Sunday buses will now run every hour from Keighley with a half hourly timetable from Greengates to Leeds. K5 – the extra trip at 7:35am will no longer run Coastliner - We will switch back to our regular timetable with a bus every 30 minutes from Leeds to Malton, continuing every hour to Scarborough and every hour to Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale. Four trips a day will run through to Whitby. An hourly timetable from Leeds to Scarborough will run on Sundays with some connecting buses at Malton for Pickering, Thornton-le-Dale and Whitby. www.transdevbus.co.uk/keighley/making-buses-better-september-keighleywww.transdevbus.co.uk/coastliner/making-buses-better-september-york

Confirmation on the TfGM website that First Manchester's 84 Sunday service between Huddersfield and Manchester will be replaced by their 184 service, which will run every 2 hours between Huddersfield and Oldham via Marsden, Uppermill, Lees and Greenacres from 29th August. This restores a seven day service on the 184 to/from Huddersfield. Also, the additional Monday-Saturday evening journey (around 2100) will extend from Grotton into West Yorkshire, but running to Marsden only, not Huddersfield. Not sure on where the bus will turn around (probably a loop around Fall Lane, Carrs Road and Peel Street to terminate at stop M2 rather than Hard End or Dirker). Also, not sure how well it will be timed to connect with the 183 and 185 at Marsden (no timetable available yet), but it might miss the 2140 185 to Huddersfield by around 5-10 minutes, meaning the next connection would be the 2222 183 service. Assuming the 184 returns from Marsden to Oldham at around 2200, the closest arrival from Huddersfield would be the 2100 185 from Huddersfield arriving at 2125 (2145 departure on the 183 arrives at 2214). Probably means anyone wanting to travel between Huddersfield and Oldham after 2000 will have a 35-40 minute wait in Marsden in either direction. Suspect that the journey to/from Marsden is more about TfGM wanting to run an evening journey to Diggle and being able to turn the bus around safely (think the Old Station Turning in Diggle is now impractical to use) rather than providing an evening journey between Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.

Hmm, not so sure about the 55 but the 65 does make some sense of sorts as it could be ran from Bradford with last journeys extended beyond Morley to Gildersome.

The plot thickens, so will the 55 and 65 run from Infirmary Street instead of Park Row, which does make sense due to no room on the Beeston stop? Could do with moving the 75 over there too.

Could do with moving the 75 over there too. If the 55 and 65 move, the 75 will move as well. There is space at that stop (what used to be P2 before it was amalgamated with P3, then reintroduced as whatever it's called now), it just depends on the timing of the 55/65/75. Last week there was a 55 on a driver change hanging out of the back when a late-running 75 pulled in in front of it. Only knew he was running late because I asked; he might have been the bus after running *very* early!
But then, a month or so back, a 1 pulled halfway in behind a laying-over bus, decided no-one wanted to board (three or four of us did) and pulled straight out again. So it's partly driver training as well. And Infirmary Street looks busy eastbound, whith not much laying over space. The better option would be for the early-running services to mark time on King Street or South Parade... but they're busy too.
On the depot question: I thought the 74 & 75 were already at Hunslet! I mean, the 74 passes close to the front door...

First Manchester website confirms that the journey from Oldham to Marsden is timed to depart Oldham at 2110 (with connections to Huddersfield - think it'll arrive in Marsden at around 2150) and return from Marsden at 2211 (with connections from Huddersfield). The 185 to Huddersfield is currently timed to depart Peel Street at 2142 and the 183 from Huddersfield is currently timed to arrive at Peel Street at 2214, so can only assume the 183/185 evening/Sunday service is being re-timed. Sunday buses on the 184 will be every two hours at 0705, 0905, 1105, 1305, 1505 and 1705 from Oldham and 0833, 1033, 1233, 1433, 1633 and 1833 from Huddersfield. www.firstbus.co.uk/greater-manchester/news-and-service-updates/planned-changes/service-changes-29th-august

I don't think Station Coaches will take too kindly for the 126 shorts to Ossett. I thought they would put 126 back to 10 minute and that the time table look very strange with short ones but just look at the 231 and 232 and they have made it so to and from wakefield they run together 7 or 8 minute which is good for horbury area

It'll be interesting to see how it interworks. I agree its definitely good for Horbury, as I used to commute from Wakefield to Horbury for a month Yes and in that 15 minute gap is a 231 or 232 so a bus every 7 or 8 minutes

The extra short 261s to interwork at Huddersfield off of/on to 228s (in as a 228, to Kirkheaton and back as a 261, then back out on a 228) which should put to bed the nonsense about anything other than Solos being able to go on 261s...

I thought the Halifax schools would be stand alone, there is no real way they could have interworked with the current 255 timetable, especially as the mostly either don’t start or don’t end in Halifax anyway.

Deckers can be used on the 261 shorts, from Huddersfield, the full 261 route will still require a single due to the low bridge at Mirfield
