Saw Arriva Yorkshire West's 691 (Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President) on the 212 today. This is operated by Dewsbury Mon-Sat daytime and Heckmondwike evenings and Sundays, but almost always single deck run, even at peak times, so why a 'decker on a Sunday?
Whilst at the rugby match between Dewsbury and Sheffield I saw a new B9TL/Darwen Olympus on the 117, but being in the stand hadn't a hope of seeing which one.

Not necessarily a misallocation, but I saw a TM Travel bus (not a coach) in Birstall on Friday evening.

It was trundling down the A62 from Heckmondwike direction. Not sure what make it was, possibly a Plaxton like the green Huddersfield Bus Company ones.

The Cherry Row allocator this morning must of not known what he/she was doing with numerous 08 plate Wright Eclipse Urbans on the 18/18A and 64/68/68A.

Not necessarily a misallocation, but I saw a TM Travel bus (not a coach) in Birstall on Friday evening. Most likely to be the DAF / Centro that broke down in Sheffield last week, being on a test run after repairs by Arriva at Gomersal.

I would have thought if any of the FCB solos had a breakdown they would either replace with a "normal" Solo (as has been done before) or just maintain the service with less vehicles and a slightly longer wait time. Surely Metro aren't happy about the use of a non-fully accessible non-branded bus?! PS Bet the passengers on that peak time 229 bus weren't best pleased...!

Passengers on 229 Were NOT happy. We had to leave a load of Passengers at City Square stop as we had No room they shouted at the driver!!!!. I was VERY squashed at the back corner seat and heaters were on full. As for CityBus I was very surprised to see the Dart complete with "FreeCityBus Bus Every Few Minutes" Destination Scroll! There was a mother trying to get on with a pram but couldn't luckily a regular Solo was behind. I first thought maybe First/Metro was "Trailing a longer bus" to see if its worth getting a longer bus for the future!. Is the 5.30 from Leeds to Hecky run by Dewsbury as for weeks and weeks ( I have only just picked this up now) I have had an Ikarus DAF and today a Dart. I only catch this one on a Weds. Rest of week I get on at 6 and 8 and weekends and 7.15 in morning from Batley to work.

I would imagine most normal solos would be in use, and not running a bus at all would be worse than a step entrance bus Regarding the Dart, a Yorkshire Buses spec ALX200 only has 2 seats less than an Arriva ALX300!

I would normally agree with your above statement, but on a frequent city centre shuttle service it would make more sense to me to use the serviceable low-floor branded vehicles and operate to a "slightly less frequent" service.
An ALX200 doesn't have as much space for standees, but more to the point why should an ALX300 even be acceptable on a peak time long distance route?

A strange mix on thursday, there were plenty of ALX400s on the 51, whilst there were 2 04-plate Purple Line Branded Eclipse Geminis on the 2 and the 12.

Has Bramley leased some buses to Cherry Row or somthing? If it is the 2 and 12, it won't be Cherry Row where the buses are on loan to, more like Hunslet Park where those routes are based from now.

TM Travel in Birstall, bit of a trek from Chesterfield! Since read, that TM Travel have moved from Staveley (near Chesterfield - not the village close to Knaresborough) into the former premises of Booth & Fisher, Halfway, Sheffield. (Our SY friends will know more of this I'm sure.)
