I was walking along Scott Hall Road when up ahead of me I saw a bus on the guideway, initially I assumed it was at the first bus stop on the bit of guideway next to the field, however when I walked past it, I noticed the bus had actually de-railed from the guideway. A few years ago, one of the ALX400s had de-railed big time on the York Road guideway to the extent it had tipped a bit. Not sure what had happened, but I have heard that these guidewheels do come off every now and again. Should this guideway be converted to a bus lane, as that same stretch was closed for some time following major damage a few months ago.

They should all be closed in Leeds and replaced with standard lanes. Too restrictive on vehicle type

Also far too dangerous as well, had a look on Flickr to see if I could get a photo of the tilted Alx400 and instead came across a pic of 69318 what looked to have jumped off the track into something at the side on York Road, narrowly missing a traffic light pole!

If i remember rightly it was about the same time Arriva got the tempos for 163/166 as that was the time the stopped using the guideway as the ALX400s used the guideway as the had the guidewheels.

The Tempo's couldn't have guidewheels fitted so Arriva came out of the busway. Clearly saw no disbenefit from not running down there so never went back in!

On the topic of the Guideways in Leeds... it only really makes a difference in super heavy traffic.

The subject of this thread is really helpful: "Interesting bus accident today" The accident happened on 11th June 2021 but it is now the 13th June 2021 but today is now?

To all those making a big issue about how my post has been wrote, and seemingly have become a bit lost, here are some pointers for you. The date is at the top of the post, the location has been described in the post, and the post was posted on the day of the accident so the wording is valid. What the frig is this, an English lesson? One thing I do know, nit picking comments are not ones related to this topic and are clearly NOT answering my question, so let's get back on topic!

That's quite a rant from a polite suggestion about how this could have been clearer. I had to look up where Scott Hall Road is - you could have mentioned this was the busway in North Leeds. You don't have to take on any of this advice, but if you do, you may find more people interested in your posts than trying to work out what they mean.

To be fair to the original poster, I should imagine the vast majoirty of veg on this forum have an awareness of the Scott Hall Road guideway. If this forum was a national one then ok, but it is West Yorkshire specific...

If this forum was a national one then ok, but it is West Yorkshire specific... It's not the only section of guided busway in the county. As, I say, the detail wasn't required, but might have been useful. Not sure everyone likes to be referred to as "veg".

If it were to be converted to a bus only road, would the current formation be wide enough? And could they widen the bit between Potternewton Lane and Stainbeck Lane in the narrow central reservation?
