The FirstDay OUT is also going up to £1.80. For the six years it has been in existence when it started out at a £1, it has increased by 80%! aye now that did encourage youngsters to use public transport more, i remember at the start theze tickets were only available during school holidays and weekends.

Steve Graham was on BBC Radio Leeds this morning defending the fare increases
Sadly he didn't seem to be fully briefed about what First Leeds were offering. They mentioned the 'Fuelbuster' ticket but he didn't know how much it costs, he also didn't know that First have a maximum peak fare
He did mention that fares on Arriva and Transdev have also increased
You can listen again at bbc.co.uk, he was on between 8.05am and 8.30am

I feel sorry for the poor guy! For the Managing Director, surely you would have some knowledge of the fares you were offering passengers on your buses.
He does seem to be an easy to approach bloke as drivers at Hunslet Park have had opportunities to discuss issues of which he could resolve. An example being buses used on night rotas with small fuel tanks (Dennis Darts I would assume) and drivers having to fill them up during meal breaks. Steve asked the engineering director to get larger fuel tanks added to buses and that if buses with small tanks were used, it would be the route manager who would fill them up whilst the driver is resting.

Is Steve Graham just the MD of First Leeds or of all of First West Yorkshire?
I know First Bradford and First in Halifax and Huddersfield also have MDs but perhaps someone also takes general control of First WY as a group?
I presume many central functions are provided for First Bradford and HXHD in Leeds
