To stop the Connecting Leeds thread skewing wildly off topic, where do you think Airedale is?

Essentially it's the railway, but I wouldn't object to Airedale Line being used for buses along the same corridor as the train, so the 622 and 662, and maybe the 626 as well because it's part of a coordinated timetable with the 622.
Anything downstream of Leeds is not "...dale"

One thing for sure, the whole area surrounding the River Aire from Malham to Ayrmin is the Aire Valley, it might not seem that way south of Leeds, but around a mile or two either side of the river are hills leading upwards to other areas of Leeds. e.g. when heading to Colton or Whitkirk from the river, it's all uphill, same from the river to the likes of Swillington and Garforth, Belle Isle, Rothwell, Middleton and so on. Basically, the river is in a wide valley south of Leeds.

Calderdale/the Calder Valley is generally used for the area between Todmorden and Brighouse (inclusive) but the Calder continues through Kirklees & Wakefield districts, crossing the Aire just outside Cas.
