So looks after the turmoil that SYM have struggled through, it appears they have called it day.
All their services have been withdrawn with no intention of them been replaced.

There's an article in the new issue of Bus&Coach Buyer about this company ceasing trading. Its all happened due to the rise in fuel and after two acts of vandalism and theft at the company's premises.
The first incident sore every window in the 14 vehicle fleet broken and fire extinguishers set off. While the second incident, a week after the first, sore the company's supply of diesel stolen. The company's insurance did not cover the vandalism.
Its a shame that such incidents should force a company to stop trading. They are having to do so through no fault of their own.

Any news? Will there be a replacement for the 412? I hope the company comes fighting back

I can't see the Hudsons coming back that quickly. The possibility of them getting another O license is very slim over the problems they suffered this year over fleet problems and last of all the financially difficulty they endured which forced them to cease trading.
For a company to get the O License they need the financial resources to operate the company. With fuel prices as they are, OAP passes and general operating costs. Bus companies are not cash cows like they used to be for a small company.

fuel prices are high, agreed.however if mr hudson paid suppliers for fuel allready used, they would not have suspended deliveries.this forced every bus in the fleet to be filled at a very expensive service station.hence mr hudson relying on rebate payments to pay wages.

I Do believe that mr hudson still owes mr stringer a fair bit of money for fuel but we all know he liked to spend money on crap old bangers that did not run and lose money then he could not pay staff or when he did it was all in coins ( did he raid his piggy bank lol) ;D but its the drivers and staff i feel sorry for as they are the ones that will suffer as well as the faithful passengers.

I somewhat found this coincidental that they have publicly blamed their closure on vandalism on the Knottingley Depot just over a month before their public inquiry resumes on the 30th July.

we said the same thing.surely thirty days notice would not have gone amiss whilst on the run up to enquiry, after all a clean bill of health was given after the enquiry when vosa did a spot check.

Real shame this company did nt succeed. I remember the 487 as a youngster and used to regularly get my parents to take me past the old depot in town to have a look at the buses and coaches that were parked up. No1 with an o licence have any thoughts on tryin to build this once great bus company back up again starting small and gradually building it up. Of course run by the correct people.
