New Brighouse Bus Station
Work starts Sunday 6 JulyWork on Metro’s new Brighouse Bus Station starts on Sunday 6 July.
To minimise inconvenience to passengers, construction will be carried out in three stages.
Stage 1 starts on Sunday 6 July. In preparation, Gooder Street and Ganny Road will be closed to all vehicles except buses and vehicles carrying out essential goods deliveries, from Monday 30 June.
Access to Church Lane car park will be maintained at all times and alternative arrangements for deliveries will be agreed where necessary.
From 11.30pm on Saturday 5 July, bus stands F, G and H (on Gooder Street) will be closed, and from 8am on Sunday 6 July all bus services will use Stands A to E of the existing bus station.
Metro is producing leaflets about the work along with flyers that will be available at the current Brighouse bus station from Thursday 26 June, telling people where they can catch their buses.

Due to be completed by March 2009, the new Brighouse Bus Station will provide the high levels of comfort and security that passengers have come to expect from Metro’s facilities across West Yorkshire. It will be fully accessible, will include an enclosed concourse area and real-time information and be CCTV monitored 24 hours a day.
