What's the point in renumbering it AGAIN and changing it to a number that already exists in Leeds?

Hmm - service number 7? Really? Is that an error, or is the route change actually going into direct competition with First? Or are route numbers in Leeds about to get confusing again?

The 7/7A/7S/X7 and 70/71 serve adjacent stops on New Briggate (and adjacent stops inbound on Vicar Lane as well)

The single route number does seem to indicate the 70 (in terms of Harrogate-Wetherby) has gone to Connexions through the latest NYCC tendering as has been suggested in another thread. Making it a single digit will enable the route branding to be modified simply by removing the 70 and 71 numbers and sticking a giant 7 in their place.

Heard a rumour CityZap is going to come off at Bury, offering an alternative to Firsts 135!!! I think the source of your rumour may be getting confused by the forthcoming change to the Red Express to come off the A56/M66 and serve Ramsbottom. Cityzap won't be diverting to serve Bury!!

PB0001746/11 Registered HARROGATE & DISTRICT TRAVEL LTD Route: Leeds to Wetherby Service number: 7 Service type: Normal Stopping Effective date: 15 Apr 2018 Vary route and timetable So HDTL will be running a service which is wholly in a different county? Or do we expect the 7 to reach Harrogate?

I can't say I'm surprised – POTD have been running a managed decline for some years now, as funding has been progressively cut, but they have (as far as I can see) shown no interest in finding and growing new markets to replace the ones they have lost. With their buses fast approaching 15 years old and likely to need to be replaced in the fairly near future, it's a logical time for them to call it a day.

Waiting to see the changes for the 42 York to Drax wonder if will go hourly with the change of route in Selby ?? What change of route? If it's going to run the full Charles Street loop, they can probably do that within the existing timetable. I don't know whether they can justify an hourly service yet – I would hope so, but when I've seen it around Selby it has always looked pretty quiet, and the first journey from Drax to Selby rarely has more than 2 or 3 people on.
