Now that many of the 401 to 433, and 801 to 830 fleet numbers have or are been withdrawn in the near future, is it time for Arriva Yorkshire to re-number their fleetlist?
The 800 series Dennis Lances are all in the process of being withdrawn, as are the 400 series Volvo B10Bs. As well as this, the 500 series is now vacant as well as some of the 600 series.
I think it would be a good decision to re-number some of the fleet as the Wright Commanders could be re-numbered as 401, 402, 403 etc. once the Volvo B10Bs are withdrawn, and the East Lancs Lowlanders or Darwen Olympus could become 601, 602, 603 etc. The training buses could be numbered T1, T2, T3 etc.

i dont think they should as it could confuse passengers How would passengers get confused by the fleetnumbers been changed? The number will most likely mean nothing to the normal passenger! I can't see the point in the renumbering of the fleet in my own opinion. What would of best been done for the new numbering system that is applied to the new buses would be: 1*** Minibuses 2*** Midi/Full size single deckers 3*** Double Deckers Instead of the 1000 series for all new buses.
