Hi, I'm planning on bashing around South Yorkshire soon. I will be getting the 59 from Wakey to Barnsley at first.
What is the best pass to ask for (equivalent to a WY Metroday)?
South Yorkshire travel websites are uninformative.
Cheers.

Beginning here: Travel South Yorkshireand selecting the 'Tickets and passes' drop down takes you to Travel South Yorkshire -> Tickets and passesHere you can give a few details of your intended travel and have the correct ticket suggested. I've done it, and the following tickets appear appropriate for the whole of South Yorkshire: 'SYConnect Day' - £6.30 (valid on buses and trams) 'SYConnect+ Day' - £7.90 (valid buses, trams and trains) I hope that helps!

I have not checked the website. It might be worth checking that such tickets are valid cross-boundary as Wakefield is of course in West rather than South Yorkshire.

The SYConnect tickets will only be valid in South Yorkshire. The Stagecoach Explorer ticket, priced £6.30, is valid on all Stagecoach bus services in West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire (except Stagecoach in Manchester in Glossop area), Nottinghamshire (not on Pronto) and Gainsborough along with the Sheffield Supertram. This ticket will allow the travel on the 59 from Wakefield into South Yorkshire and travel around South Yorkshire on Stagecoach services. A single from Wakefield to Barnsley is £4.00, according to Stagecoach website. So, the Explorer ticket would be better than buying two singles. Other tickets available are FirstDay tickets, which is priced at £5 for entire First South Yorkshire network or £4 around one of Sheffield, Doncaster or Rotherham areas and the CityBus ticket, priced £4.30, which is valid on all buses in the Sheffield area ( CityWide is also available at £4.60 for all buses and Supertram in Sheffield). www.stagecoachbus.com/regionaltickets/yorkshire/sheffield/dayticketsStagecoach Ticket price checker (Wakefield to Barnsley)www.firstgroup.com/south-yorkshire/tickets/ticket-prices
