Such enquiries into reliability problems will continue(for all operators) until local authorities do something about bus priorities and illegally parked cars. But of course there are no votes in dealing with the problems involving buses. It also does not help with the rules on running times imposed but the TC's True but traffic problem spots in Harrogate are well known and not currently helped by NYCCs traffic light sequences on the approach to the bus station. Apparently lights at the key junctions next to the conference centre are to be replaced by "intelligent" ones so if that's like any other NYCC highway improvement in the town the delays will get worse. What certainly does not help is the interworking of the 2A-2B-3-6 so delays build up across the town network; the 2B since being altered to operate anti-clockwise around it suburb loop now gets seriously held up in traffic queues on the A59 for a far longer distance. The consequences of this is the 15 minute interval of the 3 is often seriously affected with buses bunching together or a later, somewhat empty working, overtaking the delayed previous packed full journey. That then impacts on the 2A and 6. Really think they need to slot an extra vehicle in; especially given the arrival of the electric buses next year which are going to need stand time to recharge and will not necessarily be making quick turn rounds

Exact same thing that happened to connexions buses Except that only covered a few of their services in Harrogate and looked at ones in Leeds and York as well.

Does this just apply to their local services, or does it include the Leeds routes? Would be interesting to see the performance stats of the routes concerned and how they compare to other towns and cities. I doubt Harrogate is amongst the worst for late journeys unless there has numerous cancellations / repeated early running
