I've been catching up with some of the threads on the North East buses forum, in particular the recent trips/bashes thread. One poster recently did a trip on the Dalesbus network from Darlington to Leeds, he said he had a relaxed day, however when he arrived in Skipton he was told by the Transdev driver on the 883 from Skipton to Ilkley that he was not allowed to film, photograph or even have his camera visable on the bus. What did this numpty think this bus user was going to do with the footage, work out the best way to bomb the bus? Alex, the reputation Transdev has is high however it's loonies like this that can turn away potential passengers, I'm sure he's one of the few grumpy gits who shouldn't be ever allowed to work with the public, I'm sure he's one of those who work whilst claiming benefits he shouldn't be allowed to claim, hence his rather strange stance, you seriously must read the post, it's on the off topic bus chat board under bus related outings and reviews sub board on page 470 dated 12/6/17, I'm sure you can trace and discipline the driver as this nonsense really needs clamping down on.

How do you know the driver wasn't just doing his job by enforcing the policy? If that is the case, it's irrelevant whether or not the person wanting to use a camera doesn't like it. Comments like this criticising a driver doing his job are a real shame.

Rather strange that the story posted is "hearsay" rather than "it actually happened to me". If it happened to me I would be annoyed but not if it is a "story" passed on.

Well if it is Transdev's policy (which I doubt) then it's going to be a popular one, what are they going to do to couples taking a selfie for example, young kids having their photo taken on the bus by parents, and as for so called 'hearsay', it isn't bloody strange, it isn't something made up, It's something posted by a member of the public that I feel must be addressed! Am I not allowed to be angry when I read something that is totally wrong? I'm sure CCTV will prove whether this poster was posting fact or fiction.

There is one driver at Keighley who is very against having the bus he is driving being photographed, and he is very outspoken and ill-mannered. So I can well imagine it is this idiot who the person has encountered. I won't describe him for obvious reasons, but you would know if you had been on his bus

Given the amount of on bus photos tweeted to Alex Hornby I doubt very much there is such a policy.
