B10BLE 1084 has received above windows "we will have put 50 new vehicles on the streets of Harrogate by the end of 2017" - presumably counting back a few years for that to be the case. Photo found on Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/127079988@N02/34960453120/

Transdev could mean since they took over in 2006!

Think it must count back beyond 2006 - there was a B7 Gemini new in 2006 which has now been disposed of which may have been a Transdev acquisition. Since then the next new vehicles did not turn up until 2012 IIRC when the 8 Versas arrived, there was a solitary B9 Gemini in 2013 (replacing the 2006 vehicle), a soliary electric Solo in 2014 (the other electric Solo was new to York) and then the 14 B5 Geminis last year. That's only 24 or 25. Before 2006 there were 6 Volvo B7RLEs in 2004, 12 B7 Geminis in 2003/4 (now at York or Blackburn), 3 Darts MPDs in 2002 (now at Keighley) and 5 Volvo B10BLEs in 2002 (which look like they are going to disposed of). That's still only 45. Are the counting the refurbished vehicles as "new" as that would explain the by the end of 2017?

From what I saw on Twitter a while ago I believe the "50 new buses" does include refurbished "revitalised" ones.
Another of the B10s reads from the side '50 new and revitalised buses for Harrogate in 3 years'
So this I think includes the batch of refurbs on the 1, and another set of refurbished ex-Mainline B7RLEs which will be allocated to the (7)70/71.

Err, no, this was a promotion for Metro, involving First, Transdev and Arriva for Clean Air Day.

The Little Explorer Darts (or at least two of them judging by a tweeted picture to Alex Hornby)are being used on shuttles between the car parks and the Great Yorkshire Show

A third ex National Express President is at Starbeck - 2724 in Vamooz livery. According to WYIS the remainder are now to be painted in Pride of the North livery. WYIS also indicate two more refurbished B7BLEs are at Starbeck 1857 FJ58 LSV and 1858 FJ58 LSY

Someone's having a laugh there! Pride Of The North - 17 year old Volvo's?! As its the spare fleet livery suppose it was only time before some older vehicles appear in it. Presume the idea is that they can be used on services like York Racecourse shuttles instead of the current multi liveried fleet from Transdev that gets used. On the other hand WYIS indicates only 2721 and 2722 are licenced but the latter is still listed as being at Dundee.

Understood today that the 760 or '60' is probably to be getting Versas.
Wow Transdev wow. It is hard enough getting a seat on a decker in rush hour or a saturday now. I can see people leaving to use the 670 or 508 in droves (me included) when buses turn up and you have to stand or even worse not be able to get on
I was under the impression that it would be getting new deckers.
If this is true then it is a very poor descision Transdev.
Thoughts anyone

Surely they'd be better off buying B5TL Geminis? If using single deckers, they'd better increase the frequency considerably.

Maybe they'll do to the 60 what they did with the 66, smaller buses but more frequently.

I told him it was a big mistake unless they doubled the frequency but obviously it's not his decision.

My idea for the route was to get new B5's with usb and wifi and grow the usuage through that, taking custom from the 670. I can only see people turning away from the 760 to use the 670/ 508, especially if they get new buses for the Leeds 2020 thingy.

All I can say is that they clearly didn't do their route usage research on a normal mid week morning or evening. They must have done it on Boxing Day!

Maybe they'll do to the 60 what they did with the 66, smaller buses but more frequently. The 66 has traditionally (as in, for the last 10 years at least) run every 30 minutes using B7RLEs. They tried pumping it up to every 20 minutes, which lasted for about a year, and then dropped it back to every 30 minutes using Versas, which have a similar capacity to the B7RLEs. I can't OTTOMH think of any Transdev routes (or any other operator, come to that) that has gone for an increased frequency with smaller buses.

The Stagecoach "Little and Often" in Ashford, Kent But yes there is no way the 760 would be every 20 mins, the PVR would increase by a large amount due to the length of the route. I can't see the route going to Versas considering they've only recently gone from part to full double deck operation.
