I don't know whether it's just because it's in dealership white, but I think it looks really cheap and tacky compared with the Wright or MCV bodywork...

I don't think the way the white has been applied at the front helps, the panel below the window (between the bottom of windscreen & the red branding) probably should be black, what they have done makes the windscreen look very small especially with the similar strong white contrast around the destination. It looked quite good in the original dark demonstration livery and the Uno ones don't look too bad in my opinion. One advantage the MCV body has over the Wright is that it appears that MCV have built the body slightly taller so passengers sat towards the rear don't have to duck to see out of the window and avoid having to stare at the coving panels all journey.

Harrogate 7 branded B7RLE 1855 has been seen on a low loader in Bedford ! Edit - discovered a twitter comment from Alex Hornby that "It’s been to get supercharged for lower emissions! "

Looks very smart too, much better than the dark blue drawings on a B10BLE which were originally shown. Hopefully this livery will soon be rolled out and York will have a smart matching fleet at last.

As 4 of the 8 electric single-decks are only new this month, it could take a few more weeks before they are all in service. It could be a busy month for new buses if the Versas for Rosso route 464 are now being delivered too.

It could be a busy month for new buses if the Versas for Rosso route 464 are now being delivered too. The availability of the buses isn’t the reason for the delay, but issues with the commissioning of the opportunity charging infrastructure at the bus station. I understand that four of the new electric buses were simply stored at Volvo due to lack of space at Starbeck. The electrics that are being used on some journeys are making use of the charging systems installed at the depot.

Not that this is a surprise, however the latest WYIS fleet list states that the vast majority of stored B10s are now been sold for scrap, apart from: 1053, 1079, 1080, 1081, 1084, 1085, 1086. As well as dart 704 and 715 and President 2709 are also been scrapped.

Would expect all those vehicles that are to be scrapped will be cannibalised for reusable parts. Wonder how long before the Volvo Electrics result in a fleet reduction at Harrogate - its the largest it has been for some time. All of the Versas and non school B10BLEs must be candiates for relocation/off lease/sale.

At least one of them was active this week.

The number of B10BLEs increased after the Volvo Electrics arrived with the return of 307. Similarly having lost three Versas to York with the arrival of the Electrics, one (210) has returned. 306 was the regular on the 21 but has been displaced from that by the B8RLE demonstrator. There is a blog posting yesterday on the Electrics busandtrainuser.com/ which refers to the temporary generator as "not as efficient as a proper mains substation, taking longer to recharge each time" which possibly explains the continued use of Versas etc on the locals in order to maintain some semblance of the timetable although with the current knitting show on at the Conference Centre the towns traffic seems to have knitted inself into a big knot for large chunks of the day meaning timetable chaos.

Todays WYIS fleetlist has Keighley 72 branded Versa 204 as having been withdrawn along with York based 205 and 206.

Todays WYIS fleetlist has Keighley 72 branded Versa 204 as having been withdrawn along with York based 205 and 206. Yes I believe this is due to unreliability
