Once they've all been refurbed all of them are supposed getting upgraded destinations and supposed to be going back to their original YJ59 plates arent they?

Sapphire services are supposed to have white LED destination boards, 1504’s hasn’t been changed, would have expected that being done at the time of refurbishment!! The regs should be removed , as these now look daft, they’ll probably be put on the batch Wakefield just received from the north east .

On the Facebook Arriva UK Enthusiasts Group there are photo's of Arriva North East 7626 & 7627 at Dewsbury today. Supposedly AY 1915 & 1916 have gone to Jesmond in return with two more to follow.

The comment's are by Arriva Durham staff so I read them to mean that the E400's are currently temporarily at Durham (Belmont) until they swap them for Jesmonds Route 306 Pulsars. So I think four AY E400's to Jesmond, four Jesmond Pulsars to Durham (Belmont) and four Gemini from Durham to Dewsbury but I agree the comments aren't totally clear.

With increased fleet movements it would probably make sense for Arriva to have a better common fleet numbering system. I was surprised to learn that Wakefield's MAX hybrids (1720 etc) had different fleet numbers before (I'd never really noticed). What was the point in changing them?
They have Pulsars with both 14xx and 31xx fleet numbers operating just a few miles apart either side of the pennines.

Former ANE 7626 has just left Leeds Bus Station on a 202 or 203 wearing fleet number 1551 but still has NE X12 branding.

Does anyone know the reasons for the swap? non hybrid DD for same? I use 202/203 regularly and have to say I prefer E400 to Gemini - they seem more "open" upstairs front. Thanks.

Presumably the route they will be used on in the North East warranted an upgrade without the need to purchase new vehicles. Doesn’t seem a decent swap tbh, but I reckon Dewsbury are ear marked for new vehicles next year anyway for the 202/3.

Don't understand how it's an upgrade though as Max Enviro 400 and Max Gemini are regarded as the same standard of vehicle, given the 126/7 Max vehicles regularly appear on 202/3 and 268 uses both types daily.

That's a point.. there is the vehicle age thing but I guess if they are maintained to the same standard then the average passenger wouldn't see as an upgrade/downgrade,especially if the 61 Geminis were refurbed into MAX around same time as the E400s were new - would expect they'll have a similar level of wear.
