Anyone else noticed that Arriva and in particular some of the recent repainted buses at Heckmondwike have returned to service without the white band (the thick white tape) separating the cream from the aquamarine and wrapping around the front where appropriate. I noticed this is missing from the Spectra 721 and some of the ALX300's but didn't write down which ones.

I saw 721 today with yellow stripes down the sides. Also already mentioned the white stripes in a previous post, I think they are adding the small details like white and yellow stripes when they have more time, and just doing the repaint and getting the Bus back on the roads ASAP.

I saw some ALX300's with digital destination boards. Please Explain? You meaning there are "new" digital displays or just gone from Dot matrix to LED?

They've gone from Dot-Matrix to LED. Arriva have been a bit inconsistent with the upgrading. Initially the refurbished examples got an LED, some none refurbished ones have them i.e 476 currently supports one, others had them well before they were refurbished as well 450 and 456 spring to mind. A significant number of refurbished ones are still carrying Dot-Matrix displays. Heckmondwike have 462,3,5,7,9,70,1 Castleford have 481,3,7,90,1. Interesting in that all the Belle Isle refurbished ones all have LED's, I wonder where the spares are held? Anybody seen any of the above sporting an LED display?

DAF ALX300 442 should be the next Belle Isle example to appear in Interurban Livery shortly. I was all painted and park outside at Belle Isle this afternoon.

huh i never known there was a 440 It was always slightly different to the other 50 at the rear. The engine ventilation panels where sighted in slightly different places. Also it was the only one which initially had additional ventilation included at the top of the engine cover.

Not seen any in Wakefield Bus Satation having cold water spayed onto the radiators yet this year.

The paintjob is a nice one, but it doesn't make the bus any nicer to ride. A refurbishment wouldn't go amiss.

Not seen any in Wakefield Bus Satation having cold water spayed onto the radiators yet this year. Thats because a) they have finally found out that it doesn't work as 10 minutes back down the road its overheating again, and b) the hosepipe isn't long enough to reach anymore after being shortened several times due to leaks in it ! Got a bit of a surprise earlier in Leeds when I spotted Hecky ALX300 464 wearing a set of chrome wheel trims the same as the ones on the Enviro400, but it also had the chrome dishes on the rear wheels like on the Transdev Buses. Looked very different, although not 100% sure yet on the rear Chrome Dishes.
I think the wheel trims at Hecky and the Wheel arch brushes on the Belle Isle Darwen are all trial schemes by the new MD (well he's been there a while now) to improve the image of Arriva Yorkshire. I think they are all positive schemes as the Buses look smarter in Interurban livery, and Hecky's fleet always smell nice and fresh and look clean with the new signage. I hope all these changes are rolled out over the next year or so.

These schemes are as you say trails to see if they improve the image of the fleet as the new MD is not happy with it at current. Once a standard format is agreed then it will be rolled out across the depots. It is all part of his "Pride" incentive and very welcome if you ask me.

Additionally the following Belle Isle refurbished ones 440, 443 and 457 don't have the Vandal Screen fitted. I am sure there are a number of other ALX300's which don't have the vandal screen fitted.

472 and 475 have been re-furbished and painted in Inter Urban Livery.
475 was the last of the odd numbered ones to be treated. Interesting in that the first few Belle Isle examples to be treated were all odd numbered ones.
I now make those still to re-appear re-furbished to 446, 448, 454, 474, 476, 478 and 480. I have seen the latter two in the last week still in Aquamarine and Sandstone.

446 can be added to the list of those now in Interurban Livery.
I make that just 5 to still be refurbished 448, 474, 476, 478 and 480 to go.
Of the above 474 and 480 were out in the old livery today

478 was in service in Interurban Livery today and I'm sure it was 448 which look as if it had just left the Paint Shop in Belle Isle.
That just leaves 480 and 474 to be re-furbished. 474 was still in service last week.
