Seem to think it's 20 minutes late, but never allowed to run early

If I recall correctly the Traffc Commissioners work on a criteria that if a journey runs more than a certain number of minutes early or late then it is deemed not to have run( I can't remember to exact number of minutes) when the TC staff are undertaking road side surveys. 1 minute early, and 5 minutes late is the criteria that TC staff use. Often known as the 6 minute window.

That would match up with the criteria used by TfL for low frequency routes.

Much less dramatic than first thought when all those registrations went in. Basically just the 12 extension and a load of very minor times changes

In addition to services running early... Metro timetables can be misleading on routes with slack times between certain points. For example, Mytholmroyd-Hebden Bridge is timed at 10 mins (5 mins going other way) and the timetable on the rail stn says xx09,xx19, xx29 etc when in reality it only takes about 3 mins to cover this stretch as its only 1.5 miles long with a 40mph limit.

That's the sort of thing I was getting at a few posts before, the stop times are computer estimated, but passengers will think they are the actual timetable. The only timing points are Mytholmroyd and then Hebden Bridge New Road, so buses are well within their rights to pass the train station 5 mins before what the timetable at the stop says. This is one of the downsides of every single stop having a bespoke timetable compared to the old days.

Using the 324(Huddersfield - Meltham) as an example. There is a bus roughly every 10 minutes between 0800 and 1800 Mon-Sat. Given this fact along with working screens as most main bus stops is a detailed timetable needed. Outside the main hours yes but not when a bus runs very 10 minutes.

Really surprised to see the withdrawl of the 572 Halifax - Southowram by Yorkshire Tiger. Surely there needs to be more than an hourly 571 service from Halifax to Southowram? If not, then this seems an opportunity for TJW?

I wish they'd make more effort in explaining what the changes are other than 'revised timetable' as sometimes only some very specific journeys have been altered. Really surprised to see the withdrawl of the 572 Halifax - Southowram by Yorkshire Tiger. Surely there needs to be more than an hourly 571 service from Halifax to Southowram? If not, then this seems an opportunity for TJW? Presumably the 572 is tendered, but the 571 is commercial, which in itself seems an odd set up? But as it's been withdrawn mid contract maybe it was commercial? Maybe Tiger have just re numbered the journeys as 571? TJ Walsh seem to be cutting back slightly at the moment rather than expanding Also of note is that Tiger Blue are withdrawing the 319/366 to the Royal Infirmary, a link that has run for decades. They do know they haven't closed the A&E quite yet?! To be fair I bet they don't carry many passengers on that stretch but in my experience, drivers never make much effort in picking many up on Westgate, they are usually off and away in seconds.

There are a handful of subsidised 571 journeys which are unchanged.

The withdrawal of the hourly Mon-Sat daytime 572 Yorkshire Tiger journeys between Halifax and Southowram is a serious cut in provision. The residents of Southowram will be completely unaware and will be in for an unpleasant shock when they realise their link to Halifax is down to hourly. Without sounding like the 'Forum Grump', this is much more of an issue than my previous comments on the demise of the Tod-Bacup service! Southowram has not expanded like some areas of Calderdale, but I don't think it has retracted. Although it is only 2 miles from the centre of Halifax, the village demands at least a half hourly bus service as the return journey is hardly likely to appeal to many would-be passengers ascending the long and relatively isolated climb up Beacon Hill Road! Without going on about 'the good old days, Route 30 Halifax to Southowram had a 12 minute frequency during peak periods in 1974.

The original plan when First withdrew the commercial 572 a few years ago was for the 571 to be the sole provision for Southowram, then Centrebus jumped in offering to run it commercially! The trouble is there isn't the demand up Southowram anymore ,I remember driving the 530/550 series when frequency was every 20 minutes and the buses were busy, I accept every 30 mins would be better but in these financially constrained times its not going to happen and Metro have no funds to support it.

TJW could extend their 555 Siddal route (which has a regular 20 mins frequency from First)to run as a through cross town route every hour still using 1 bus?

Regarding the Tiger Blue by K-Line changes, they've not fully described the changes
The 319 is withdrawn to the Infirmary, but the Berry Brow part is increased from every 20 to every 15 mins, so still 3 buses
No increase on the 366 though, so its now run with one bus
The 324 is reduced to every 30 mins, so down one bus
In Halifax, the X58 is reduced to every 70 mins, presumably so they can run it self contained with the 2 new Versas, instead of interworking with various Halifax locals.
The 22A replaces the 22 at school times, with a quicker round trip, it presumably means schools interworking again.
