New CEO for Transdev Blazefield
Martin Gilbert has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Transdev Blazefield and joined the Company on 1 June. He reports to Charlie Beaumont, Chief Executive of Transdev plc, and Chairman of Transdev Blazefield.
“Martin brings significant senior management experience from the customer-facing logistics sector and will build upon the strong tradition of success at Transdev Blazefield,” commented Mr. Beaumont. “He will play a key role in the Transdev UK Executive team."
Martin began his career at Unilever and over the last 20 years has held divisional managing director and main board positions in a number of major quoted companies including Exel Logistics, Northern Foods, Express Dairies and Arla Foods.
The current Transdev Blazefield Chief Executive, Giles Fearnley, will stay on in post until Martin has completed his familiarisation programme and takes up the CEO position. Mr. Fearnley will then move into a part-time non-executive director role.
Why does Transdev need a CEO for Blazefield when personally I don't see the point in the job. Transdev created two MD jobs last summer, one for Lancashire and one for Yorkshire operations filled by Russel Reville and Dave Alexander respectively. So both of them report to Martin who will himself report to Charlie Beaumont, CEO of Transdev PLC.
