They'd been established a long time though, not just a short term operation that started competing with Transdev. They probably were competing around Hyndburn back when it was Stagecoach Ribble and Blackburn Transport.

Accrington won't be the same without the endless procession of red minibuses racing around.

Clapped out buses which were not DDA compliant and running only during the hours when shops etc were open or new or newish buses operated by Transdev. I know which I prefer and it's not M&M sorry

Pilkingtonbus are taking on four routes;
1 Accrington - Clayton Le Moors - Accrington
2 Accrington - Dill Hall Circular
9 Accrington - Barnfield/Laneside Circular
231 - Accrington - Whalley - Clitheroe renumbered 15. Presumably this will have timetable changes as to work the school runs they had a 5 minute interval service at school times to cope using their minibuses.

The following were their other routes
521 Accrington - Clayton le Moors-Padiham - Burnley which had a number of Lancs CC funded workings
21 Padiham-Burnley
46 Accrington-Church-Intack-Blackburn
155 Blackburn-Wilpshire(- Clitheroe school working only)
879 - Oswaldtwistle Mills - Hollins Technical College school service

The 521 does not have any LCC subsidised journeys. Their only LCC contract was for school service 879.

Definitely!!

LCC have barely got a pot to p**s in, so certainly not throwing money at journeys that duplicate other regular commercial services.
