Subject to consultation et al, Bradford's City Circle is due to be withdrawn from September. Currently plans are for partial replacements as follows:
New service 609 to run between Bradford Interchange and BRI via St. Luke's Hospital and Girlington (covering the western half of the 601/602) - this will also mean BRI having a more complete network of dedicated services 609, 619 and 629.
The 670 to have a re-routing to cover Undercliffe and Killinghall Road (replacing the north-east corner of the City Circle).
It appears the rest of the route will have no direct replacement due to low usage.
Incidentally, service 680 which covers similar areas in the west of Bradford is due to be cut to hourly from July, and looking at VOSA today it appears that First Bradford are planning a lot of other timetable changes (minor or major?) from July.

Interesting, cheers.
Whilst Bradford's Overground routes have had several doses of new buses over the years, the remaining services haven't had the same improvements - I was suprised that Bradford were letting buses go to Sheffield when older ones remained in Bradford.
Could this be a (further) slimming down of "non core" routes?

The ORIGINAL trolleybus 34 BOLTON-dudley hill-BANKFOOT was as a linking service to avoid going through the city centre BD1. the presentday infrequent service can't be relied on and passengers tend to go via cc rathe than waitin around at obscure junctions on the ring road. the leeds ring road bus is similar. used to be handy for a dawson's corner-birchwood hill

Will be a shame to see it go.

I've just been discussing this with M60800 whilst trying to answer some very hard questions in his pub quiz!
On what date does 601/602 finally finish?
Despite living in Bradford for six years I've never done a full loop in either direction. However, rather more than Leeds 8/9 this is - was - a seminal route and it's end perhaps ought to be commemorated in style.
To be fair, there never seem to be many punters on either circuit through my neck of the woods (Bolton Road) and maybe the current 2pvr is taxing our friends at Profits-First to the limit (!).

I THINK it's the SEPTEMBER change. see wypta site for details. the new pattern of services in BRADFORD will commence two days later. two parts of the route will be covered by other new services 609 between st luke's and girlington 670 on killinghall road also 268 508 607 614 617\8 620 624 640\1 operate over other parts of the route. the service has in more recent times suffered poor timekeeping and poor connections and a reduction to an hourly daytime service.

All of the above, including the planned timetable change date which somebody asked about, was included in the original post at the top.

It's on VOSA now. For the avoidance of doubt, it is cancelled with effect from Sunday 31 August.
