I was on 2711 last night from Leeds, I noticed (From the reflection of buildings) that the side display showed 760 - Wagon Lane. The front blind was messed up (only showing 760 w l).
Anyone know why it was displaying this? Just seems a bit odd.
Cheers, WYBS

Even more strange as well the 760 doesn't go that way now! Think there was a short working in a previous timetable so probably mis - entered.

There used to be a trip years ago from Leeds to wagon lane and then bus would form 960 beckfoot to greengates. Passengers complained about the gap in service and was reinstated to Keighley. Desti still remained just in case there needed to be a short working .

In 2002, mind you this was an evening journey that started from Leeds. May have been wrong display at the time. Had me asking where on earth is Wagon Lane. Thanks to tech, least I know it's beckfoot school. Wonder why they just didn't display Bingley Beckfoot School instead.

It ended at the wagon Lane stop then went a tiny bit further on to Beckfoot.. I used to go to Beckfoot at the time... There used to be a 760 from greengates only which was nearly always b521 uww as well around 16.45

Because it terminated at the Wagon Lane stop, the general public are not allowed to travel into the school grounds. Also it could be mistaken for a school special. Incidentally I once caught the 200 ? service bus between Huddersfield and the depot (I was going somewhere on Leeds Road) but the driver didn't notice me on the bus at the last stop and wouldn't let me off at the depot so I had to remain on until the first stop on the return journey.

That's wrong because you are allowed to travel on the staff bus into first bradford grounds and a 549 service from brighouse in the afternoon also goes into the school grounds

The arrangements at First Bradford HQ allow for public to catch the bus to the enquiry office without going into the garage.

There is a difference between passengers already onboard a journey remaining on that vehicle whilst it picks up inside the school grounds and non-school passengers boarding/alighting inside the school grounds, schools have no authority over the former and absolute control over the later. Schools have really tightened up who has access to the premises and they get quite twitchy about strangers just wandering about.

Schools have really tightened up who has access to the premises and they get quite twitchy about strangers just wandering about. The Jewish Free School at Kingsbury, London tried something like this with their TfL paid for school services, and tried to dictate that they wanted the buses to ONLY pick up the school children, and to display a blank destination. Believe TfL told them where to go - if they wanted these conditions, they would have to pay for the services privately. The journeys on First York's 1 pick up inside Joseph Rowntrees at New Earswick in the afternoon, and some drivers then try to avoid picking up at the stops outside on those journeys, even when 'normal' passengers are waiting.
