Just realised that like most things in the grand world of fantasy NYCC live in its costing them £166.67 a day whereas the Taddy shuttle they have provided and are now using their own minibuses on apparently is costing too much at £500 a day.

The main difference is that the shuttle bus is free to passengers, so they are paying the full operating cost, whereas Tadfaster is going to be charging normal fares (apart from the bonus cheap fare day next Saturday) and so there will be a good income stream from passengers – it needs a bit of pump prime funding to top that up in the early days, but after that it should be self-sustaining. But (and particularly before the footbridge was opened) it isn't a substitute for a service connecting the two sides of the town, so you can't say that the council made the wrong decision in funding the shuttle bus.

Following the re-opening of the bridge in Tadcaster, Coastliner will return to normal route in the town from tomorrow (4 February) with the Tadfaster service withdrawn end of service next Saturday (11 February). yorkbus.co.uk/news.jsp?newsID=1864

Hang on, as well as a link to the east side of Tadcaster, Tadfaster was launched to mitigate the reduction in frequency when the 20 min frequency dropped to half hourly! Tadfaster was also launched as a FAST bus to York! Once again, Alex has shown his cards!

Tadfaster was also launched as a FAST bus to York! Once again, Alex has shown his cards! No, Tadfaster had nothing to do with the Cityzap launch and associated Coastliner changes, which happened at a later date. The only reason it ran FAST to York was so that an hourly service could be maintained, which wouldn't have been possible with the standard Coastliner route/timings via Copmanthorpe. So, I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree here. Tadfaster has done exactly as it was intended to do - fill the void left on the east side of the town, whilst the main Coastliner service was diverted.

Cos, Just Travel of York, claim they were first vehicle over But, when you look at an above photo on their Facebook page, you can clearly see, Transdev's blue vehicle in front of a White vehicle.

Apparently Just Travel were the first vehicle OFF the bridge, as supposedly the Coastliner stopped and the coach was waved past.
