The 21:41 ex Leeds to Manchester Airport was cancelled this evening due to 'a line fault near Huddersfield'. Does anyone know what this might be? I understand the 21:26 to Huddersfield and the 22:09 to Liverpool Lime Street were unaffected, so why the cancellation?

Problems in the Tunnel......................... Shortage of fingers and toes on the Axle Counter, that must be a new one for why your train is cancelled www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/standedge-tunnel-trains-cancelled-delays-9180102A signalling problem in Standedge Tunnel is causing Bank Holiday trouble for train passengers. Services between Huddersfield and Manchester Victoria are being disrupted with some cancelled and others running a much reduced service.

Strange mixture of official changes. I was told today that something on the line caused the cancellation one way, but was cleared soon afterwards!
Many thanks for the replies.
