The buses are all owned by the same company in Germany and if I was standing by the side of the road in the middle of nowhere I would not be bothered what colour it was as long as it arrived around the scheduled time. I have to agree here. This 900/901 service is currently operated by TLC and K-line so I'm guessing the patrons of this route expect the vehicle in question to vary. And this service is a contracted one with little passenger numbers so I'm guessing that no one has really ever noticed or really ever cared that its a tiger bus on a Sunday. But this is one of my favourite routes, love getting the 500 from Keighley to Hebden Bridge then get straight onto the 901 to Huddersfield so you gotta consider it lucky there us a bus running this route.

Finally, someone actually posting something from a pax point of view. Most non-enthusiasts do not care what make, colour, age or company as long as it turns up on time, is clean and tidy and goes where they expect. I doubt any of them actually read the "operated by" part of the timetable.

So what's the point of K-line have a rebrand? Either customers care what a bus looks like and what name it is or they don't. If they care, it's worth rebranding - but it makes sense to be consistent, if they don't care there's no point and they might as well send out buses in whatever colour and name is to hand.

So what's the point of K-line have a rebrand? Whats the point in having brands? People buy trainers & clothes with 3 stripes on the side because they've bought them before, they did the job and were comfortable, rather than trying something new, people stick with what they know. People will know that the usual service is run by K-Line and that on Sundays its operated by YT, despite the timetable showing other things. They'll be used to it.

Passenger numbers weren't that low when I caught the 901 on Sunday. There were a dozen of us on the 1210 service leaving Huddersfield last Sunday - until last year this was the first Sunday it didn't run after the summer. Until I caught it I was unaware I'd be catching an orange bus. Knowing who operates the bus helps with checking it's the right one - if you're waiting on the roadside between Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd there's buses coming along run by First, TLC and K-line. It can help tell if it's your bus in the distance. I used to do that as a child going to School before I had any particular interest in transport.

Does it really matter what the colour of the vehicle is as long as the route number and destination are shown correctly. It is a contract route and therefore considered as a need by WYMetro. If you want the publicity changed to reflect a different coloured vehicle on a Sunday then the cost of printing new timetable leaflets and posting details on bus stops may result in the route being withdrawn because of the extra cost involved

The point of the rebrand I believe is to strengthen the fact that K Line / Tiger Blue is part of the "Tiger Family". Most passengers probably know this as even now when they get on a K Line bus and they want a period ticket it's issued as a 'Tiger Day' or 'Tiger Week'. More confusing for the passengers is the recent use of Waterloo's borrowed MPDs on the 262, and the passengers boarding with an Arriva ticket and drivers having to explain to them that this bus with Arriva names is not actually an Arriva bus! It certainly doesn't confuse the children on the K88 Waterloo - Shelley every morning when a Tiger bus rolls up and they get a ticket issued as K Line!

As each of the Vosa/DVLA website reveals that TeamDeck Ltd have two trading names K Line and Yorkshire Tiger therefore vehicles of either colour could be used. Indeed the odd Yorkshire Tiger liveried vehicle has appeared on the 324 so all the bother about the 901

Wonder if the 901 Sunday duty will move back to Honley now that they are operating AccessBus on Sunday's?

a quick check of the Kirklees website reveals that the access bus only operates between 0830 and 1515 Monday to Saturday. If this is correct then it would appear that Honley will remain closed on Sunday's

X166NWR is a former AccessBus previously with Kirklees council and now rendered surplus to requirements there, makes sense for them to purchase it.
The Commander will be one of K-Line's own.

X166 NWR is ex accessbus, probably came with the Kirklees contract and is surplus with the new Solos.

Having looked at the pic, you can just about see the last two letters of the registration number which appear to be TD so it may well be 616 which is YJ55WTD.

Very nice. I do like the way it ties it in rather more with the normal YT livery. That'll make a lot more sense on a Sunday 901 and customers understanding their day ticket validity.

. He also said they got X166 as it was going spare and not required for general accessbus usage, it will see general frontline action but will be a spare should 401-4 throw a wobbly and breakdown. Where has he said that? All I can see him saying is

Where has he said that? All I can see him saying is He tweeted me at 1206 today sayong the buses in the pic he tweeted (616 & X166) are the launch vehicles for Friday. If you want proof I can put the tweet on here when I get home from work or in 30 mins if proof is required urgentley. No need, I can read your conversation and the quote was direct from him. I was querying your claim that X166 NWR is to be used in frontline service and backing up the accessbus when necessary (he clearly didn't say that at the time). After you claiming (on twitter) that X166 NWR as a multipurpose vehicle, he goes on to say At a guess, X166 NWR will sit at the back of the yard and be used in an emergency on KL routes and as and when required on the Accessbus.

Calm down everyone! The commander is 616, now registered KUI6563 (was YJ55 WTD) but incorrectly marked up with fleet number 613 (it will get corrected shortly)! Commanders 613 and 614 are currently at Bus & Coach World in Blackburn as the next two being worked on (both again branded for route 324). Work will then move onto the Cadets and other Solo’s
Solo X166 NWR (fleet number 400 – replacing the 55 plate loan Welfare spec Solo from Dawson Rentals) was purchased from Kirklees Council specifically as the spare for the AccessBus contract (a contractual requirement, hence hiring a bus in whilst it was away being prepared) but it is in fleet livery for total flexibility so that it can be used on other work if required.

Good lord. Can somebody please ban 'deltalui'? Is there no update that would be comprehensive enough? How about a little gratitude towards the busy chap who finds time to give updates to enthusiasts?

Good lord. Can somebody please ban 'deltalui'? Is there no update that would be comprehensive enough? How about a little gratitude towards the busy chap who finds time to give updates to enthusiasts? Excuse me, but why should I be banned for showing an interest in what's happening, which if I'm not mistaken is the purpose of this site??? I could ask for you to be banned for discrimination which is what your statement is. Maybe not the asking but i'm sure you can find it in you to say thanks for the info. As like the previous user said, he is indeed a very busy individual. He runs a bloody bus company and i find it extremely kind of him to take time out to give out this information.
