Can you all remember 'Flagship' services that Yorkshire Rider ran in the mid 90s
I believe it was mainly a Halifax and Huddersfield thing with Bradford also doing one route
Were there ever any Flagship branded routes in Leeds?
Later on, it then was replaced by Gold Service in Halifax and Huddersfield and Sovereign in Bradford. Again Leeds didn't seem to embrace a 'quality' concept much?

Which Bradford route was run under the Flagship banner?
There were definitely no Flagship routes in Leeds. The closest I guess Leeds ever got to a quality brand was the "First Class" brand used on some publicity when the artics were introduced on the 1 and the Royales introduced on the 50/50A, and possibly some others, though this was never really pushed as a full on concept.

In Bradford, the Clayton route (636/637) was Flagship. This was also the first route chosen to trail a smart card - the predecessor to the First Card.

The X84 should be ragarded as flagship. I would imagine that First Leeds regarded the 732/733/736 and 755/655 were the flagship routes along with the 780/X84/784!!

Bradford's version was "Soverign" Think 72 was one of them. The Royales and Wright Flolines were the vehicle for these routes. It was launched when new buses and first interior apeared for the first time. I remember there was comment forms asking what we thought of the services! Gaz

Well Flagship was either before or during Badgerline's reign, and then Sovereign was used after FirstBus was created, I think.
I had forgotten about Sovereign, it was used on quite a few Bradford routes if memory serves, certainly I think it included the 72, 681/682 and possibly 622-627.

Sovereign started in 1998 on the X6 then the 72, 622-7, 681/2, 612/3, 684/5 but then with the launch of The Overground and the new buses introduced in 2000 was extended to all Overground and low floor operated services
Around the same time there was Gold Service in Halifax on the usual suspects (508, 576) and Quality Service (548/9, 589-595)

PROB drifting a bit off topic here...'? Keighley had the STARBUS network, I think they gave you the fares back if they weren't on time. Bradford had SOVEREIGN routes where eating on the bus was banned completely.

I remember Huddersfield Flagship services 350-352. Dennis lances were in some white livery for this.
First Huddersfield Gold services were 340 369 370 371 372 373. These were all operated by Scania Wright Ultra-lows in Rider Huddersfield livery (later B1) and the 10 Dennis Dart SPDs.
More Dennis Darts came and the scanias were moved over to service 363.
Services 340 369 (I don't know what old 373 was), were no longer part of this gold service branding.
Then Red Line brandings appeared on the SPDs. The gold service remained as well!! but was later removed. One SPD still has a patch of red on the left hand offside window.
Services 387 and 382 (in the now stagecoach area) were also treated to a high standard having SPDs and Ex Hong Kong Dennis Dart SLF. The 382 I'm sure was a Gold service even though it was only half-hourly!

I remember 5082?? Leyland Olympian in Huddersfield was also painted in white for Flagship. One of the Dennis Lance numbers was 4001. There was also a Pointer Dart, I think.

OK, i guess where i'm getting confused, is the fact that Atlanteans ran on Flagship services with a Flagship sticker on the drivers side window. Correct me if i'm wrong, but Huddersfield's Flagship route's were introduced to combat competition on the Manchester Rd corridor with Bolton based Blue Bus weren't they?.

Yes they were, introduced in 1994 with Alexander Striders, later extending to Golcars and various others. The Badgerline/"Rider" fleet didn't arrive until 1995
