The short listing for the Northern and TPE franchises have been announced with the winner being announced October 2015. This indicates that the bidders for TPE are First on its own, GoVia and Stagecoach. So maybe, just maybe, GoVia could be awarded both franchises, but I doubt the DfT would in practice. This could represent a return of Arriva on some Northern services. Serco are definitely coming off Northern as a result.

It's a seperate venture where Keolis is the majority share holder 65% go ahead 35%.

the current TPE franchise is extended to 2016, with improvements planned for May 2015.
