No they are talking about Cottingley. Which may make way for a NEW station at the White Rose Yes, it's mentioned in passing as the reason they're not going to improve anything at Cottingley.

New £25m train station for Calderdale town will be delayed until 2026, 'because of a variety of factors'
Elland Railway Station update (Halifax Courier)
The completion date for this scheme has been pushed back until late 2026 because of a variety of factors, including design changes and supply chain challenges.

It's really ironic that apart from a period during Covid, Cottingley is seeing it's best level of service with hourly trains to Manchester and Hull. If WYCA put their mind to it, this station could have been a bigger success as it saves many people the hassle of travelling via Leeds, I use it from Beeston (a 17 minute walk away) and if I can find it useful, so too would many others. With a ticket bought in advance, I can travel from Beeston to Huddersfield in 45 minutes, Beeston to Batley in 27 minutes and so on. As a side note, Cottingley probably for the first time, and no doubt only time ever saw a handful of Scarborough bound trains stop there during Covid.

I Agree if there was a better service Cottingley could of been a better success, but there is no capacity on the line for any extra calls at Cottingley (unless you want already rammed Manchester - Leeds express trains to stop there) hence why it has to go once White Rose is built. There's little to nothing WYCA could do about it - It wasn't them that axed one major rail capacity project into Leeds & massively scaled back the other.

New platform for Bradford Forster square

And for those wanting more than 6 words... www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/24084253.forster-square-get-new-platform-24m-investment/Sounds a lot to get an extra 5 services a day to London - that seems to be a change of heart, too. The last I heard from LNER, they were reducing from 2 to 1 trains a day to/from Bradford FS. Before that they were supposed to be providing a train every 2 hours as part of London to Leeds going to 3 tph, but I don't remember that needing an extra platform. They'll be lucky to get it done in time for the City of Culture year finishing.

It's mean mentioned elsewhere that one of the reasons for the U-Turn over LNERs Bradford route is to part of the solution to help capacity in Leeds after HS2 being chopped plus WYCA was/are wanting frequency increases on the local services an extra Platform would help with. Of course the chances of this being built is still 50/50 at best IMO, given the recent track record of announcements especially them that come under 'Network North'!

There is no extra capacity to Leeds, these are extensions of existing services. ECML is putting all it's extra capacity from London into Edinburgh.
They'll have to get it done by the end of this year, they'll be no long access periods allowed during the City of Culture next year.

I Was meaning having extra capacity at Leeds Station itself, as extending more LNERs to Bradford means there won't be as many trains per day using a through platform at Leeds whilst on layover.

Ah yes I see now! I do wonder if they'll portion work with the Harrogate, 10 from Kings X splitting for 5 to Bradford and 5 to Harrogate. 9 cars are overkill to Harrogate.

I did think that would be good, but split portioning doesn't seem to be popular at the moment. There was a schedule issued for the London – Skipton to carry a Leeds – Huddersfield portion, but this was quietly dropped. I think the current plan is for alternate hourly trains to continue to BDQ or Harrogate (so occupying the platform only for the turnaround) and a slightly-reduced turnaround time on the other hourly service (currently around 30 minutes). There was a plan to run the Bradford/Harrogate train as a separate service along the Hambleton curve so not requiring reversal, with 2 tph starting Leeds via Wakefield, but the plan for 3 tph from Leeds seems to be not needed.

COVID and now TRU ruled out Huddersfield for now. Alternate hourly trains would be logical but you'll end up with long dwells at BDQ to time match the Harrogate (which already has a long dwell up there!).

If one (or both?) of them was hourly, it might work out as there would be more units floating around that you could hook the Bradford return up to the Harrogate one from the previous hour. The catering resupply would be done at Leeds, so the turnaround times at Bradford and Harrogate would be as long as it takes to litter pick and do the unit check.
Getting P8 released for an extra 15 minutes every hour would be a boon for through services.

I thought that building P0 was to move everything down a platform, so instead of being P1–6, these were moving to P0–5, allowing P6 to be free for the LNER trains. The proposed timetable revision was for terminating trains to arrive 20 & 50, then departing at 10 & 40, so allowing more flexibility.

You may be correct; I think P5 needed extending, which should have happened already. The question then would be, where would people hang around once through the gateline; at the moment they block off the area near the information desk, making it harder to reach P7 and the eastern footbridge at times. They'd probably block off the route for passengers moving to/from Platforms 0-4. Perhaps we need to create a pen for the sheeple :-)

From another thread, to stop it going off thread, as they usually do.
This was reported in the Yorkshire Post three weeks ago.
'Workers at the White Rose railway station project on Elland Road, south of Leeds downed tools last week, while a timescale on work re-commencing remains unknown.
A joint statement to The Yorkshire Post on behalf of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Network Rail, developers Munroe K and principal contractors Spencer Group, describes “a temporary pause” in construction of the new station, but provides no indication of how long the pause may last.
“This decision comes in light of an unforeseen increase in project costs, prompting a thorough evaluation of future funding sources to ensure the project's successful completion,” they said late yesterday.'
