Not many new buses being produced today by Optare. BBC reported about a strike at the factory this morning There are a series of overtime bans & discontinuous stoppages (I assume this means short strikes that don't last all day or shift but just consist of a couple of hours on assorted days) as part of a dispute that seems from reports to revolve around the fact Optare want to implement a summer factory shutdown - the staff complaint is that this will be when prices go up for the school holidays so it will cost them more. I'm just surprised there are that many childless staff at Optare that they can get enough people to object to being guaranteed a holiday during the school summer holidays when most staff want the time off anyway.

Sounds like the 2nd June was the second day of strike action according to Optare's own News www.iii.co.uk/research/LSE:OPE/news
