Where's this late bus at 2250 from? I can't see anything at that time.

It is because York Depot is closing. Geminis and 3 Eclipses staying. Not sure what actually is happening to York services, most likely Pullman or sale. Anymore info.

Where's this late bus at 2250 from? I can't see anything at that time. OK, I was being approximate. It's timed at 2247 from York Station at 2255 from Stonebow. Which I guess makes it 2250 at Rougier Street/Micklegate. I gave the time from York because that's the one that people seemed to be bothered about (sorry, I had meant to put that in the post) – I've not heard complaints about the lack of late buses from Leeds since NYCC stopped paying for them 3 years ago, but there has been a lot of noise in York about the lack of late buses. It starts from Leeds at 2145 and terminates in Malton at 2330, running 7 days a week.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the 2 hour gaps in the service to Scarborough. But then on the other hand, I suppose there is a time in the middle of the day where it is too late to go for a day out and too early to go home, so the journeys may have ran quiet.
The X43 has no return service so must return to Malton empty.
There are 2 journeys which start from Tadcaster in the morning, and 2 journeys that end at Tadcaster in the evening, will they really then travel dead all the way to Malton?
There are also various journeys that finish their day in Leeds, that's an awful amount of dead mileage.

The dead miles from Leeds & Tadcaster were present on last years timetable too.

Theres also no arrival at Scarborough for the 1705 departure, nor at Bridlington for the 938 departure. Could there be some contracted non public workings which explain these oddities.

The early morning Bridlington departure never has a inbound, it works off the journey that terminates at Scarborough Railway Station (rather than Peasholme Park) an hour or so earlier.
Coastliner do operate school service 354S locally within Scarborough.

This summers timetable shows morning arrivals at Scarborough matched by departures back apart from the X43 but that is way too late to run empty to Bridlington.

The 0838 arrival is the one that runs empty to Bridlington. The 0916 departure runs off the 0803 arrival after it does the school service.

The Scarborough service gets a much worse service than last summer. First departure from York is now at 0849 rather than 0744. Last bus back to York is at 1903 rather than 2148 Departures from Leeds to Scarborough were 0750, 0915, 1015, 1115 etc. they are now 0730, 0840 & 1040. If anyone does catch the service all the way there is basically only the 0840 now which doesn't leave too early and still allows a decent arrival. Number of services from any destination to/from Scarborough has dropped from 15 to 11 on weekdays. Whitby and Bridlington services are mostly the same as last year, except there is now one less journey to/from Whitby. PVR looks to be 20 during high season, I think 19 before 30 June. The question that still remains is are single dockers going to appear on journeys to/from the East Coast, which would be a retrograde step.
