Got this email from First:
From Sunday 30th March, First will be introducing some changes across Leeds.
Most fares across Leeds will be frozen as we have absorbed some of the cost increases within the business. These include the £1 and £2 Headingley Lane flat fare and the 50p CityBus fare.
When there are fare increases, these have been kept to the minimum to cover the increased costs we face. Most £1.10 journeys will increase to £1.20, although around a quarter of these fares will be reduced to £1, such as that between St. James' Hospital and Leeds City Centre.
We are also simplifying the fare scale by merging the £2.50 and £2.80 peak/off peak single into one £2.70 fare.
Overall, across West Yorkshire where fares have increased, these have been below inflation at less than 1.5%.
In making decisions about fare changes we remain focused on providing value for money for passengers and so all adult daily, weekly, monthly and annual fares will be frozen. This sits alongside the introduction in January of either new value fares or price cuts on saver tickets across West Yorkshire, including the reduced £14 weekly ticket for Leeds and £3.90 day fare.

Makes sense to simplify fares ahead of introducing smartcards- in most cities with smartcard systems there's a single flat fare.
