Found the times for the X62 on Stagecoach's website. New very early journeys from Hull to Leeds at 04.50 and Leeds to Hull at 06.45 arriving in Hull at 08.30, later last buses from both Hull and Leeds as well meaning you could have a day out (well 4 hours) in Cleethorpes without the cost of the train. Tempted to try it.

I went to Cleethorpes once and that was enough, well Blundell Park, why anyone would want to spend anytime in Cleethorpes is beyond me.

Wasn't this service down to like 2 journeys each way or something at one point?
If so, fair turnaround!

By looking at the timetable the junction 32 to Leeds doesn't seem very realistic being 20mins as google maps reckons 24 minutes and the 758 from glasshoughton to Leeds is at the worst time on the m62. It could even take 20 minutes from glasshoughton to the m621 at that time.

The 20 minute allowance is the same as the previous timetable that has been in operation since 2012. If it was unrealistic Stagecoach would have surely taken the opportunity to change it? There is layover time at either end of the route to easily accomodate longer journey times so it wouldn't have been a big thing to do

There is layover time at either end of the route to easily accomodate longer journey times so it wouldn't have been a big thing to do I do the route every day and know had bad it can be and especially with the pending roadworks. I can understand if there is layover time it isn't a big issue from an operational point of view but if someone was to decide to get the bus thinking it was going to arrive at 8:18 when they start at 8:30 and it arrives much later than it states it would cause them difficulty.

I take it that the 4 B7R coaches transferred from Scotland are for the X62.

Yes it seemed to get cut right back to the bare bones a few years ago, and then later was increased again. The quality of vehicles used has been just as up and down, from high spec coaches to standard double decks at various times.

The coaches now feature free wifi & leather seating inside which is a vast improvement on Olympians & Vykings that once did the route too !
Let's hope it's a success for Stagecoach.....

I would seem that Stagecoach East Midlands had an official relaunch of the X62 service in Leeds City Centre last Friday, February 14th as well.. Stagecoach East Midlands? Thought it was Stagecoach in Hull? Are they part of Stagecoach East Midlands?

And Stagecoach in Hull buses actually run using the Lincolnshire Roadcar Company licence, which always looks a bit odd.

And Stagecoach in Hull buses actually run using the Lincolnshire Roadcar Company licence, which always looks a bit odd. Stagecoach East Midlands run on the Yorkshire Traction licence at Chesterfield, and Lincolnshire Road Car at Worksop, Mansfield and Hull. Until this reorganization and rationalisation of the licences, Hull was managed by Chesterfield, and later Lincoln, but still ran on the Cleveland licence, apparently to do with the drivers pensions - as they had already been transferred from KHCT to Cleveland Transit, they were told they couldn't be further transferred onto the Stagecoach East Midlands one, so whilst the management responsibility moved to EM, the operational side stayed with Cleveland.

Chesterfield is part of Stagecoach Yorkshire these days, not Stagecoach East Midlands
