There has been little mention of any of this taking over business from the companies involved. Last I heard Stagecoach and Arriva where still in talks with each other. Obviously things have moved on a lot since then.
I can say though that CentreBus liveried Dennis Dart P28MLE was at the Stagecoach depot at Waterloo this afternoon. Also there was an MCV Evolution from the Blue Bus hire fleet.

Has anything official been announced regarding Centrebus/Arriva/Stagecoach/K-Line or is everything still rumour? I would have thought that if a new operation was to be introduced incorporating Stagecoach/K-Line then a publicity lauch etc. would have taken place. All that seems to have happened is the new legals on the buses with little or no mention of it from any parties involved. The very fact that the legals have been changed demonstrates that this is no longer just a rumour. However if your question was more along the lines of no public announcement about the change being made, then yes you are right it seems to all be a little hush hush just now.

Some buses still carry Stagecoach names, so I have been informed by someone who is not an enthusiast, yet seems to learn about things sooner than I do. Seen today was a bus still wearing Tracky colours, along with a Stagecoach liveried bus. Fleet nos. carried were in the range 275-279 and 430-432 if anyone can identify them.
Whilst the 262 is Arriva (Dewsbury) operated on evenings and Sundays, that depot also does some Sunday runs on the 231/232 (presumably from those 262s which do the two hourly Dewsbury-Huddersfield full run and then out to Wakefield and back and then a return to Dewsbury as a 262).
Seen in service today, on the 262, was the Centrebus vehicle.

Found some information on the following site: www.route-one.net/current_issue.asp"In a surprise twist, the expected sale of Stagecoach's Huddersfield operation has been made, not to Arriva as anticipated, but instead to Huddersfield Bus Company Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centrebus Holdings Ltd. Last week, Centrebus Holdings (incorporated on 26 March) also bought the nearby 30-vehicle K-Line of Honley operation. Arriva was negotiating with Stagecoach for the sale (routeone, News, 13 March) and Arriva Southern Ltd, T/A Huddersfield Bus Company had successfully applied for a 35-vehicle O-licence to operate from the Stagecoach depot at Penistone Road, Waterloo, Huddersfield." Looks like Huddersfield Bus Company will have approaching 65 vehicles over quite a varied number of routes. Hopefully they will provide much needed competition in the area. Unfortunately, if they are part owned by Arriva, I doubt they will encroach into North Kirklees where Arriva have slashed services and raised prices. Do you think they will keep Waterloo and Honley or sell off the sites and build a new centralised depot closer to town?

As you suggested, Centrebus Holdings is part owned by Arriva but not a majority share in the business.
I suppose the K Line routes will keep the same prices as they compete with First generally. Plus Stagecoach ticket prices were pretty expensive as well so I can't see how Arriva could dig a hole any further.
I hope that Centrebus do introduce weekly and day tickets as that will benefit them.

Sitting here I can see Wakefield road on the hillside up to chimney lane, and for years the only buses I have seen were Yorkshire Traction and now Stagecoach. Yesterday morning around 6:00am I was passed while out walking by a Arriva bus from Wakefied to Huddersfield and this morning an Arriva bus going to Wakefield.
Yorkshire Traction/ Stagecoach pass my house on Penistone Road and they have had some really noisy buses in the past. I used to use the X62 from Huddersfield to Leeds they got some V reg buses a driver told me they were airport buses, the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat on as it used to take over an hour from Waterloo to Leeds. The old N reg buses they had/have were more comfortable

Centrebus are a small group. They start in the Leicester area but are also in the South East and Grantham, and own Bowers Coaches in North Derbyshire www.centrebus.co.uk/

The first vehicle that will be getting painted into the new Centrebus livery will be V502EFR. Well that is what has been said on TSY.

I have seen some new buses with non yorkshire registration numbers and all white are they demonstrators or what? So one on 81 to Clayton West yesterday Morning and on the 262 on Saturday afternoon....presume they are going to stay because some of the buses at Werloo are shall we say...not very comfortable. The deckers from Keighlry are really nice and comfortacle, just hope they don't go too quickly.

I have seen some new buses with non yorkshire registration numbers and all white are they demonstrators or what? Its been mentioned twice already in this thread that Plain White MCV Evolution/Dennis Dart SLF PL06TGF is currently in operation with The Huddersfield Bus Company. Its from the Blue Bus (Preston) hire fleet. Not sure why its here but likely to be filling in while other thing are sorted out. I have not seen any other hire buses as yet. Most of the other Stagecoach buses have gained Orange "Huddersfield Bus" wording. David.c

That will explain this then davidsnonrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p50637084.htmlYJ08DWN and YJ08DWL. Sore them this morning as I passed the depot on the bus into Huddersfield so headed back to Waterloo this afternoon to get some pictures. They look really nice and I carnt wait to see the rest and to see them in service. I take it they are to receive some sort of route branding or livery? David.c

Nice buses! but i'm not keen on their Front Ends . The Green livery is ok, but not the best. As for Red, I'm not a fan of it as Tracky were already red/white. Does anyone think the X62, 235/236 will be put back on or not? The X62 was successful, it only had issues with the route and the length!

Funny you should talk about the 235/6. Stagecoach are extending their 92 service (I think) to Skelmanthorpe and Denby Dale in the July change window.
They are promoting it as a use it or lose it which for a service that has not yet even started, it looks doomed from the start. I think this extension is from alot of singing and dancing made my councilors etc in the are who were moaning about no link between Denby Dale and the hospital at Barnsley.
The X62 I can't see starting again as it would be Arriva somewhat competing against them selves on the route due to financial interest in Centerebus Holdings. The other reason why is Leeds City Centre which can delay buses, well when Tracky and Stagecoach ran the X62 they only gave the bus five minutes lay over in Leeds so would end up late when returning.

Two toned green liveried Plaxtons YJ08 DWN & YJ08 DWL are now wearing orange 'Huddersfield Bus' branding top front near side and off side. Looks slightly odd as a colour combination!
Drivers have been 'fleet training' on these vehicles the last day or two.
Not sure whether any route branding will be added, but it looks likely these 2 vehicles will be entering service very shortly.

Like the style of the Centro's (although I have a lesser liking to the Versa and new Solo), and with the green livery look quite nice and presentable, however in that picture they are without fleet names.
As the saying goes, "orange and green are rarely seen [together] except on silly people".
I think the saying actually is "red" rather than "orange", but it works, and seems to have the same effect ;D

Yeh I can confirm that the first two Centros, YJ08DWL/DWN have entered service. I managed to get a ride on one of them and very nice they are to. The next pair have arrived at the depot now. These are YJ08DWK and DWM. I went to get pictures of them today and these can be found here: davidsnonrailwaypics.fotopic.net/c1515153.htmlI assume the final two will arrive next week. David.c
