If they are going on the 301/302 Golcar circulars, they should have ordered the Max version instead.

Im a bit bemused by this, As i was under the impression there is no "First Edinburgh". From what i have seen up there, the operating company is First East Scotland or perhaps Scotland East. And they run like we do down here, ie, under the umbrella or name of First West Yorkshire we have our areas/locations with our named fleets such as Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds and Halifax. Whereas up there under the umbrella of First East Scotland the fleets run as Midland Bluebird (based at Larbert), which serves Edinburgh, East Lothian (serving Edinburgh's eastern conurbations) and a Borders operation (not sure what the exact title is) which runs longer distance services such as the X95 into Edinburgh. If anybody has any exact info as to which depot Halifax's buses are going to, then we'd know exactly which fleet they'd be going into and which part of Edinburgh they'd serve. I have a personal hunch they may be going to Midland Bluebird, as they have a goodly number of ageing Darts and Olympians which should be due for replacement. But just to throw a spanner in the works, Im sure it's been reported that First East Lothian are to lose some of their B9/7TL Gemini's to possibly Manchester and/or York.

First Edinburgh is what the whole company traded as in the early 2000s. Think the Borders operations come under Midland Bluebird (formally known as the Central & Borders division), with the Lothian operations as Scotland East.

Remember that there will soon be some spare Gemini's at Livingston once the 43 Edinburgh - South Queensferry comes off, but also Borders need additional vehicles from tomorrow for increased frequencies on the 62 Peebles - Edinburgh.
TBH, I think the extra buses will actually be better used to get rid of the B7R / Profiles as they are totally unsuited for the local service work they are getting used on at present.
Think the fleet as it stands now will change vastly over the next few months.

First Edinburgh as a trading name was replaced by First Scotland East in the mid 2000's. The new trading name also encompassed First Midland Bluebird and First Scottish Lowland. Since the amalgamation many changes have taken place, unfortunately for First, none for the better. As in recent years they have taken a real battering losing services and passengers to Lothian Buses in Edinburgh, Stagecoach on Forth crossing services and several independants on border based services. This has resulted in the closure of Berwick, Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso, Peebles, Haddington, Dalkeith and Linlithgow depots. Despite this FSE still has an overall fleet size of over 370 buses, but logic suggests this number will shrink. From what is posted above, looks like 66745 will join FSE's Lowland fleet. Maybe it could be the Livingston Gemini's heading to Manchester or York then?. If so that would pose the question, why would First send some Gemini's from Halifax up there (32460/692), just to send some back down again?.

The transfer of 10 Eclipses is not happening, the majority of Halifaxs B10BLEs are being scrapped along with all the Dennis Darts and replaced by Bradfords W reg B10s and 66751/2/3 and 66764/65 from Huddersfield!

Looking at the 1996 FirstBus handbook what would become the present FSE was operating as Lowland,Midland Bluebird, and SMT.A coach operator Kings of Dunblane was owned by first using the same address for Midland Bluebird. From 1997 there was also a short lived operation FifeFirst which completed with Stagecoach between Edinburgh and the Kingdom of Fife.

Well 39001-5 are now parked up at York tonight Probably sounds pedantic, but the First York thread is in the North and East Yorkshire section.
