Optare Tempos 773-776 are going to be moving from Elland to Leeds shortly, with MCV Evolutions moving to Huddersfield What's planned to work the 528s then? Maybe the Scanias off the 757? I don't know, they'd probably work well on the 528 assuming they are powerful like Scania's have a reputation of being, but I'm not sure about the size of them and whether they'd be tight on the 574.

Quoted from the MD Martijn Gilbert last week at Metro 40 he is looking to get some long solos to work the 528. Not sure where from but he seemed pretty adamant.

A "10" plate MCV Evolution, sorry didn't get fleet no, was on 262 Dewsbury this teatime. Still in original livery. I presume the first of the Leeds transfers. Of note was the fact desti blind not working, just paper sticker in windscreen.

Subjectively, Just an opinion but, those blue tiger stripes don't look right at all to me. Im well aware its how the bus goes and not how it looks that's important, but the orange tiger livery, we all seem to agree looks striking. Is it just me that think's the blue flying tiger livery just looks "tacky"?.

Is it just me that think's the blue flying tiger livery just looks "tacky"?. Personally I think the flyingtiger livery is cool and a clever twist on the standard Tiger livery in order to give the airport services their own identity & brand but still keeping it in the 'house' style. Whilst some people may have the opinion that how a bus looks isn’t as important an issue as how often or reliable they are, neither is it completely unimportant. Image and presentation now play a big part, especially nowadays when bus companies need to 'up their game' in order to not just satisfy existing customers but to attract new ones, some of whom may not have been on a bus in years. With this in mind I think this distinctive livery will help achieve that. They just need to ensure that they don't compromise the brand and customers' expectations by slipping a clapped out Dennis Dart on to the service. Shame that I can't say the same about Tiger's owners, Arriva. I have detested their livery since day one, it is frankly bland when clean and downright dowdy when dirty. The interiors too, even the newish Geminis are drab, not helped by their spec of still using black rubber mounted windows like something from the 70's. Also, .....Oh I'd better stop, I'm drifting onto an Arriva rant!

I'm sorry to see the 4 Tempos 773-776 move from Elland to Leeds. I know they were not everybody's favourite buses, but to me they were undoubtedly the GTIs of the fleet!

Also, .....Oh I'd better stop, I'm drifting onto an Arriva rant!Thankyou, for taking the trouble to respond, I dont agree with you regarding the Flying Tiger livery, but i fully respect your right to a different opinion. However i agree 100% with you regarding Arriva's "interurbane" livery. I too have always thought it drab, uninteresting and dull as ditchwater. To me it looks like the colours you'd apply to a 1960's Council Social Service's van. Then again, i always thought the original Sandstone/Aquamarine looked positively staid and conservative compared to the eye-catching First Barbie and Stagecoach beachball. As you say, brand image is important, but it's also a very subjective affair. I've never not boarded a bus because i didn't like the livery, but i have not boarded when i've not liked the bus.

You're right though regarding opinions on things like liveries, it's subjective and nobody can say that they ARE right. Glad you agree about the Arriva livery though, that would knock me for six if anyone said they actually like it!
