DAF ALX400 is indeed ex Arriva North West, 4076 based at Bolton. These ex-London DLA's are on borrowed time within the ANW fleet. Many have been withdrawn already and replaced by newer ex-London President's and Gemini's. So i suppose it's not beyond the realms of possibility more could be heading over to Arriva's low cost/budget fare unit (Yorkshire Tiger). Those ALX400's are worn out. I was in Bolton yesterday, they have a batch of Presidents now 4171 to 4182 which looked like they were just into service judging by the shiney paintwork. They had some T-FGN ALX400's still running, didn't see any S-JUA ones other than 4029 being stripped for spares. The old ALX400's will not survive the hills in west Yorkshire!

They are getting 4 apparently although it isn't known if they will all be at Huddersfield or if some will go to Leeds. This batch has bench seats I believe which is a bit old fashioned and ages them badly.
I look forward to walking quicker than one heading up Far Dene up into Highburton by the sounds of it.

There's no disagreement from me, that the ex-London DLA's are indeed clapped out. I've had the pleasure of riding the Rhyl based ones many times on the 12 LLandudno-Rhyl service when i've been down there. However given the choice between riding these old bags of lash or a new Versa, then no contest. Give me the decker any time.

Indeed I've done the same, there is a particular long incline on route between between Abergele and Llandudno where it was probably quicker to get out and walk.
Doesn't say where the Versas are for, probably either Huddersfield or Leeds for the 757, although I'd prefer full sized buses to be used on that rather than Versas.

I think you could mean that steep hill which passes that old hotel overlooking Colwyn Bay. To be fair, ive been on Darts that have struggled with that incline as well as the DLA's. Only the Pulsars seem to handle that stretch with relative ease. Be interesting to see how the new "Sapphire" E400's handle it when they arrive in july. Back to YT, I do hope those Versa's go to Leeds, there's enough junk already at Waterloo.

The 5 versas are for Leeds for the 757, and apparently they are only 0.2 metres smaller than the scanias

I would have thought the Versas would be on the 757 as that is the high profile service that most stakeholders take interest in.

There was an all-over white saloon parked up at Waterloo this lunchtime. traffic was moving briskly, so i could only get a quick glance. Im not 100% sure what it is, but it looked like the K-Line Dart/Caetano? that came from Leeds.

Could be Mcv Evolution 654 as that is still in an all over white livery, the Caetano is now in the white/blue Kline livery just without logos

It wasn't 654 and i know the livery of K-Line's Caetano. Maybe i should have phrased it better by saying, i suspect it's an all-over white Caetano.
